marko i know this might sound daft
are you looking at the form of these horses or using market structure or stats ? wd btw |
By:
well done again marko, nice n steady !
|
By:
this clear fav thing is what fascinates me
|
By:

By:
striding
The clear fav thing is so that we are laying at the lowest possible price, as you know laying blindly at BSP will never work.... You could of course apply further filters to it but I think its best to leave as is and see how it goes, 10 years of consistent results cant be wrong and hopefully the fav win rate with this will stay around 21% which is much better than usual 32-33% |
By:
yes but i may think a horse is a 5/1 shot and if it goes off 5/2jt fav i'd be laying it and you wouldn't ?
|
By:
this looks like a stats based system where the form is irrelevant
fair play if you've made this work for 10 years good on ya! |
By:
yes its a stats based system so once selections derived you could apply your own opinion and decide how you play it based on form/prices etc
|
By:
stats schmats couldn't give a flying as to how he picks em ! they doing the bizz so far ! well done marko !
|
By:
it's not a criticism foyles
i like to know how things work, i don't want the system was just interested whether it's based on form of the runners or not! |
By:
Could be another 1 or 2 lays later this evening.
One thing that was interesting when running the previous thread over the 3 months, the worst day was always saturday yet based on the 10 years results it was no worse than any other day..... |
By:
i followed markos thread" favs lays plays " did well ! and hopefully this one will go well ! great start !
|
By:
negative minus stats, course, trainer jockey, distance, straightforward really.
|
By:
m johnston and r hannon have negative tracks.jockeys distance,
|
By:
you could have a horse here that's 4/1 clear fav and lay it but not lay it at 3/1 because its 2nd fav
i can't get my head around that |
By:
striding
The clear fav lay is based on ISP, I use the BSP for recording purposes to make it fair |
By:
yes marko but what i said still stands
in your system a horse may be a lay at 4/1 but not at 3/1 depending on whether its fav or not so it's implied that it being fav is the biggest thing rather than the price you will lay it sorry if i have this wrong |
By:
For a time i did record results for selections that weren't fav, yes many of them lost but some won at big prices, even races where they ended up joint favs they would lose etc
|
By:
10 years of data supporting it cannot be knocked though so i can't see why it would stop working now!
|
By:
marko - do you use RP data or a different source?
I used to use the Adrian Massey stats a number of years ago to build systems but haven't found anything comparable (and free ) since. |
By:
Massey was a quality site Dave

Marko69 did you get my pm?
