Just when you think life is hard along cones someone who not only is a Rangers fan but also Chapman's biggest fan, you get a sense of relief as on reflection your own life isn't as bad after all.

Those who are aware of Matt know he is a genius. I am aware of him but do not think he is a genius........ ![]() |
By:
quite like Matt in general but his charity race commentary on Sat was nothing short of excruciating
![]() |
By:
Matt is by far the most entertaining presenter by a country mile. End of story.
|
By:
Is that the qualifications for being a racing presenter these days, to be 'entertaing'? Perhaps ATR should get Ronnie Corbett in for a few shifts.
|
By:
Meant to say, entertaining, factual, knows his stuff, goes out on a limb with his selections, will criticise jockeys when they fck it up and is basically saying what most punters think when said jockeys balls it up, unlike any of the others on the gravy train.
|
By:
Chapman only opens his mouth when it's certain jockeys as everyone knows.
|
By:
hilarious when he got down on his knees,to ruby, please, please run faugheen in the champion hrdle.

The sport needs characters... Not the arrogant sexist/pervy/sleazy likes of McCririck and Thommo.... Chapman can be a bit of a chump at times, but he's often amusing, he's good natured, reasonably knowledgeable... I like him

chapman and plunkett should get married, two of the most boring ,clueless muppets ever to pick up a mike
|
By:
To bracket Matt with Alice is really so unfair - quite amazing how we see things so differently - one offers far more to this great sport than the other - if you cannot solve that puzzle then it is time to give up .....
|
By:
even more unfair, think of the kids
|
By:
while were on about clueless muppets I would like to add mappletoft to the list,
|
By:
he's errmmm just errmmm plain errmmm annoying errmmm
|
By:
Although he can be a little annoying at times (who isn't?) he's a breath of fresh air among the mundane, gravy train presenters.
|
By:
i remember matt jumping on the ground at lingfield 2 years back just to give us punters an idea of the going. I know the going at lingfield is standard but matt took a few bruises just to be factual and entertaining
a credit to the racing industry |

Sacked from Towcester because he just doesn't know when to stop.
Very crude and unfunny , usually at others expense. Unfortunately for him, the Towcester management saw the light ![]() |
By:
what examples of rudeness are you referring to Rothman
always found Matt very humble |
By:
Was talking to a lady owner at Henlow , who told me of a few comments he made about the size of that lady and tried to make a joke at her expense.
Only hearsay of course, but seeing him perform many times, rather likes to get a laugh whatever the consequence, is my impression. Many complaints have resulted in his demise at Towcester i'm told. |
By:
Peter O'Sullevan did the job for 50 years without once feeling the need to shout out a catchphrase after tipping a winner.

I be with Pug Munter on this one.
I think Chapman is the most entertaining of all the TV pundits just wish he was with Racing UK instead of ATR. I like Oli Bell as well who does a similar role on racing uk he's probably better on the big race days than Chapman. But day in day out I prefer Chapman. Saying that at the risk of causing a riot on the forum I also like James willioughy. I'm always curious to what he's going to say next and whether it might be interesting or not. All the rest I go for the mute button including Lydia who I think asks too many questions. 3-4 Questions is Max that should be asked on a interview in the parade ring. Otherwise it makes me cringe as the interviewee in a lot of cases you can see clearly wants to go elsewhere. |
By:
To be fair allez, Chapman asks more questions than anyone.
|
By:
Matt is the hardest working man in show business.
|
By:
Does he still have his stint on Radio Norwich?
|
By:
Peter O'Sullevan was always piiisssed and a gambling addict....did a commentary in '63 in which he called Piggott a 'useless kkunnt' He'd had his fee on the long man. Disgraceful.

Remember that episode with Alan's biggest fan in it...
|
By:
do you like anyone in the racing industry? Im sure all i can see from your posts you dont have a good thing to say about anyone
lighten up a bit |
By:
I like loads in racing. Geraghty's a gent, I don't rate him highly but STD seems a very nice lad, many similar I like to see do well. It's the self absorbed ones like Chapman who I refuse to listen to as many sheep do.

By:
prank call ffs
|
By:
I like Matt Chapman, too. At the other end of the behavioural spectrum, Rishi Persad. They might go well together together with George Osborne lookalike Nick Luck for weight. ABC Anyone but Clare
|
By:
Chapman should replace Nick Luck on C4 racing and we can hear the real questions being asked and not **** foot round these trainers and jockeys like Luck does, if C4 what they ratings up Chapman is the man.
|
By:
C4 needs chapman
