What would this sport be like without them ... can anyone think of any others?

Look at Somersby ... running at his seventh consecutive Festival ... second in an Arkle, second in two Champion Chases, hard to believe he chased home the likes of Go Native in 2009 .... look at who finished around him that day .... Red Moloney, Kempes, Torphichen, Cousin Vinny ...where are they now?

Only others I can think of off my the top of my head are Fair Along and Youmzain, remarkable "yardsticks" ...

Powerstation a good shout .... not sure Kauto Star counts. I know he ran at 7 Festivals but he did win 2 Gold Cups and is widely recognized as the best horse of his era.

What about horses who had remarkable longevity and ran great races in the big races but constantly get forgotten about. Somersby an example of such a horse.

Powerstation still on the go in P2P sphere ... just looked him up on the RP website.

Another one that should be mentioned is Get Me Out Of Here - second in 2 Coral Cups, a County Hurdle and a Supreme from 5 Festival starts

you're excused Howdi, Theatreworld said you're not the first and probably not the last to overlook what he almost achieved in those three runs...!
