Not to my knowledge CL, maybe I did but I can't remember for sure. The 80's is all a bit of a blur to be honest. Lovely win by Palace yesterday, by the way and we're as safe as houses now I would have thought and must have a fair chance of turning over Liverpool in the cup on Saturday. Trying to get a ticket for that game but nobody I know wants to give up their seat. 
Indeed SB, must admit was very disappointed with the Everton result last week, the victory at Leicester was just what was required, though I'd be loathed to think we are safe until mathematically proven, away wins at lower clubs like Leicester and Burnley are a good sign though, as for the Cup my son a Pool fan assures me they are due a result against us, I'll be keeping fingers crossed he is proven wrong of course...!

A good friend of mine used to own the 100 Club in Oxford Street and one February back in the early 80s he invited me to a secret, unannounced concert. The band was the Rolling Stones and it was their only performance anywhere in the world for the best part of that decade.

The Harp Club New Cross. Sure i remember going there , must be 40 odd years ago.Went with a pal who was on leave from the navy.Trying to remember if i have the right place so i phoned my mate, and he thinks it used to be the Irish Club at one time.
I remember sitting upstairs, and it all kicking off on the dancefloor below us.
Good old days.
I went to school just down the road from there,Addey & Stanhope.

Miranda's off of Greek Street, Frith Street? They used to play Miriam Makeba singing The Click Song when the African strippers were performing. It is a great number but after a while it drives one mad.
On one occasion I was roped into visiting an illegal Juke run by West Indians in a garage at the back of a Victorian era house. All they sold was Rum , Colt 45, and cigarettes. There were tables for cards and Dominoes and each table had a fan above it. It was like something out of a Bogart movie with the obligatory Judas. The music was pure Ska and Blue Beat.

Va Va's in Bolton, Friday Northern Soul all - nighters. Drug Squad took an interest after about six months and it closed.
the kirk in kirkleathem, middlesbrough was the best club in this area in the 80,s, music upstairs,pool,tv downstairs,paul young in the quicksteps played there a few times,weapons of peace,a few ska bands

the spiel in new cross not so much a nightclub more an afterhours illegal drinking den ,attended by some rum characters !
Flamingo in Wardour Street,known as the Mingo,no problem getting purple hearts,and bands were keen to play there.Didn't open until about 10 pm.Good for RnB,Georgie Fame a regular.Everyone very smartly dressed in latest gear.

One of the first big concerts I went to was in Blackpool, Opera House, prob late '67....Hendrix, Pink Floyd (Syd Barret), The Move, The Nice (Keith Emerson)....if my memory working top of the bill was Amen Corner....& we bought tickets at the door :-)
Years ago, there was a club in Soho rd, Handsworth named Knickers, that actually had a band called Fingers play there!

50 odd years ago the Beatles used to play the Raith Ballroom in Kirkcaldy.
you could have got yersells down carlisle for the twisted wheel(smiths,new order,cure,jam+punk), then pagoda for a really classy night(level 42/shalamar type music)+the cats whiskers/talk of the town for grab a granny night

Slippy/Deptford.......laughing looking at all the clubs you listed, think I attended most of them back in the 70,s. How about "Room at the top" little club up stanstead road towards Forest Hill. Even earlier the "Savoy" and "Co-Op" hall in Catford, every early 70,s. Always loved S.E.London growing up, it was a great place to be, wouldn't touch the area with a bargepole these days though.
Sinatras was okay last time I went about 30 years ago, paid about £8 to get in, but free drinks all night and buffet, loads of fanny.
Whams Careless Whisper was huge last time I went clubbing properly.........Lol
top deck in redcar 40 yrs ago was the in place famous for doing tequilla sunrises,it was 40 yrs ahead of its time, LOL
Bournemouth...Chelsea Village, Cardinal, Maison Royale for the more discerning punter. And Tiffany's at Boscombe. Kool and the Gang, Commodores, Fatback Band on the turntable. Great days...especially when we fell onto the football coach at 2am to arrive at a northern outpost in time for breakfast.
sunday night at the cats whiskers in oldham was a great night sadly now oldham is a shadow of the town it was for obvious reasons,grab a granny at the ritz in manchester was always great fun now when i go to night clubs the grannys are younger than me .

early 70s the global village near charing cross ,and the lyceam ballroom was nearby
MOTHERS at Erdington. Small clung above a carpet warehouse.Progressive rock bands all played here. in late 60s early 70's.
