Eye Of The Tiger is a front runner and as its slingfield Kindlelight Storm run style is suited for this.No doubt the gamble is well in on old form but smelly kelly on board from the front is enough to put anybody off.

I've laid both horses win & place, at very poor odds. I hope the gamble fails... it's tempting to lay some more of Indus Valley, 9/4 is unjustifiable unless you have some seriously good inside information on it.
Report robbie fowler is god January 22, 2014 12:07 PM GMT
maybe people throwing a few quid on known gambling stables horses they  think have no chance and then laying a 20s chance at 2/1
or the bookies just reeling people in to so they lay 20s chance at 2s
be an interesting day though like always collects says what the market does after 1st one runs
i put eye of tiger in doubles and didnt get matched on spences and did sophies in single 7s but couldnt back any at the prices now
Report theonlywayforward January 22, 2014 12:23 PM GMT
Imho the record of these gambles is pretty poor. For sure they do win but as my records show its 6/1.And they are always short .Fancied Kindlelight Storm before the gamble so happy to get a better price .GL all.
Report know all January 22, 2014 12:35 PM GMT
I dint get involved but its interesting and what all the bookies in the country this is what they will all be talking about. I suppose its what makes this game great trying to work out if its a goer or a dud, I suppose the more you read into it the more you are dragged in. if it comes off they will be talking about it for years, great story and gives us something to chatter about
Report theonlywayforward January 22, 2014 12:52 PM GMT
True but both the donovan horses are well treated on old form and @ a price would be worth a bet.Eye Of The Tiger especially as his record after a break is 4 wins from 5.But front runners @ slingfield are not for me.

2 bananas to 1 - being Barney's famous quote to Luke Harvey RE: how much bookmakers are prepared to lay nowadays.

So who knows, perhaps the OP has saved the bookies a few quid by giving them the heads-up Wink

agree totally George, all the big money came today had the nibblers not got involved last night, the bookmakers today would be facing a far far worse scenario.

looks like it will be bad enough but the five were put up by the books yesterday at 10/1, 7/1, 20/1,7/1, 16/1, the few quid they laid last night has saved them millions if the last two go in

Mukdahan then said he had spoken to someone at 3.65 who'd said they'd laid it to lose £50K, do you believe them?

Would Barney give the game away so soon before the others had priced up the races?

As mentioned earlier, there'd had been peanuts traded on here at the time of my post.

Fair play to Mukdahan for spotting it as well, because we all know that BC is almost impossible to second guess.
