I'm already doing one on the football thread for the R Post's Kevin Pullein, and will start one for the Daily Mirror's bet of the day. I won't put up the horses in advance - that's up to you if you want to put them up in separate threads. (The horses are available from 8pm the previous night for R Post ipad subscribers). Picks under the "Price/Wise" logo will count regardless of whether it's picked by Tom, Mel, or whoever.
Segal in France is utterly a waste of time and money , that will be the last piece of advice i take from him in France.

Tom on Sunday "Punting lowlight - Being offered 15p, yes, 15p! when I tried to back a horse in the St Leger with Stanley James. I was only asking for a fun tenner each-way"
(It's a statement that raises more questions than answers. Did SJ knowingly block Tom's account? Or is someone for the high jump? (Not a peep about it on their Twitter yet, and they have been asked). When is a tenner each-way "fun"? Is it fun losing 20 quid? What does this say about Tom's discipline? What about the other Post journos (looks at a certain writer's boasts over the last few weeks) who never get knocked back? Which of them have arrangements? Which of them are lying? And which are just useless?)

I know the prices are impossible to get and that it's really a loss-making exercise however.........................
A strike-rate of less than 10% (9.44% to be exact), just three winning consecutive winners and an gut-busting losing streak of 50(!!!) (and probably others) and yet he manages to lose no money, so far.
It gives anyone who bets horses methodically and consistently the hope that one can make a profit by being faithful to the selection process. If you are mostly following your own selection process the prices, presumably "value" iyo, are (obviously) available and can be rewarding. If you can't find a selection process that gives a one-in-ten success rate you may be at the wrong game.
Just leave a counter-intuitive thought: of all Pricewise horses that shorten, are there equal examples of drifters on the basis they are simply not fashionable on the day (and nothing more sinister). If one-in-ten of these can win do we have another route to profit?

So. Even when there are countless bets included which no proper Pricewise punter would even look at Sir Tom is in profit this year as he is every year.

I thought that Joe39 had updated this but the post seems to have gone. Anyway I think that Sat 22/23 was breakeven and this weekend was breakeven apart from the Ante post winner. Don't know how many would have got the 12/1.

Windsor boy -I don't understand your comment of "desperate stuff" -are you implying that I'm belittling his winner. I'm merely trying to keep this thread going to the end of the year. He broke even on the Saturday/Sunday daily bets . He had an ante post winner that was recommended at 12/1. Usually if a PW horse is put up ante post , getting the advertised price is hard. If it was freely available to money , so be it.

There are other tipsters that Joe Soap could also follow in the Racing Post, its just that if you miss a big winner, which is bound to happen, you're up the junction.

Just include PW winners and ignore the losers, that's what most of his followers do anyways!
Oh and all get the mythical prices too I believe.
I also believe in Father Christmas.

3 losers and a winner yesterday. I think Joe39 settled winners at the morning price and not the SP if that was bigger -so counting the winner at 12/1 makes about 21 points up on the year .

Including ante post, I think 3 losers on boxing day , 6 yesterday and 3 today. That said very unlucky yesterday and today. Overall about 9 points up for the year. Sir Alex's figures indicate that for Tom only up 38.5 pts. for the year-I don't know if they assume best price.

Two down today and I suspect that is it for the year. So overall 7 points up for the year for all pricewise and 36.5 per Sir Alex's figures for Tom. If you could get £100 a point at the prices that is £3650 up-not to be sneezed at -though I wonder how many persisted in what turned out to be a 50 losing streak. Thanks to Joe39 for doing this for most of the year.

Yep, final total for the year for Tom segal selections at advertised prices was +36.5. His worst total for 15 years. Take into account that only approx 75% of the prices are available and it works out at about 2 points profit per month hence the reason I stopped following him. My best tipsters are up approx 250 points this year.

sadly there cant be a punter anywhere that would have secured all the BPs. Taking into ac Boyles NON Availanle price and many restrictions out there..And the very short window to get all these bets on. I think in reality we have to consider 2014 a losing year for win only points. Personally i have a few quid ew on the longer prices so might have made a small profit. But its not that important..Hope TS bounces back next year..Very frustrating end to the year . i suppose you cant be brilliaint year in year out.

I have never known him have more than 400 in a year but i havent counted so happy to stand corrected. Normally has around 20 per month and then a load more when the big meetings are on. I used to try and have 100 on each which worked out at around a 12k profit per year.
