RIP Maggie. Best Prime Minister this country had seen since Sir Winston. Scargill and his ransom holders well and truly defeated, country put back on its feet after Callaghan and his muppets tried to destroy it just as Blair and Brown have recently. Vilified by those who wanted something for nothing, and those with little backbone. Galtieri found that she was more than formidable. Took the decisions that others would have shied away from. The country would certainly NOT be in the appalling state we find it in now, both morally and economically. Dance at her death all those of you who choose to, slag me off for being proud to be British, but do not try to tell me that she was a monster! That is an opinion that has been made fashionable by those who really don't matter!

i really hated her and how she effected my life when i was young, milk, no school sports after school, YTS, Poll Tax etc etc.......end of the day she is someones wife, mother..........

I understand many people disliked Mrs Thatcher,but I know living here in 1990 was a damn site better than it had been in 1979,In no small part due to her . She wasn't perfect (who is ? )but for most people she did more good than harm .If you dislike her ,which is totally your right ,today isn't the day to write vile/puerile/obnoxious things about her ,even if they are truely felt.

The country is in the appalling state it's in partly as a result of decisions she made back them most notably the deregulation of banks. |
