Sat watching Claridges and there's just been a geezer on called Gerry Parker, a retired bookmaker from the smoke who's been going to Claridges for breakfast every day for the past 40 years, anyone know the guy?

Says he's also done time in the Scrubs and knew the Krays
Just had a quick search, was involved in East End gangland and clubs in Soho. I never heard of him as a bookmaker, the oldtimers would know but a bit before my time.
CuBoNe as well no doubt. I don't rememeber him from on course or any dog tracks in London, Harringay, Hackney, Wembley etc.
Only 'Parker' bookmaker I can re3call was 'Snouty Parker'.. think his first name was Maxie. When i was at LRL (eary 80s) It was Snouty's name on teh LRL Cheques! 
I worked for Maxie Parker in the 60s for a short while at his shop in Poland Street.
Going back to Claridges, that suite was £6,900 per night. Seems quite reasonable to me.
It was a difficult choice Jason, but I eventually opted for the Premier Inn at £19 per night the last time I was in the smoke!
