Like it's great craic winning 21 races on the trot long may it continue, maybe they want her to retire unbeaten in 50 handicaps or something like that but i think they know the run will end when the meet the No.1 RATED HORSE IN THE WORLD.. Their So You Think was the greatest horse of all time that was until he set foot in European soil, now he'd be lucky to be in the top 20 in O'Briens stable. They are beginning to realize after what happened to SYT that maybe their racing is just about average and 'their superstars' are just superstars in their own back garden,

Crippled with fear is Moody, wouldn't let him back home if she gets beat over here.Won't happen at Ascot though.

Then why doesn't Frankel meet BC over 7 furlongs - surely that would be the fairest distance?

I suppose if Frankel was sent to run every few weeks at courses like hamilton, thirsk, folkestone and yarmouth then he might be on 21 wins as well.

Over six or seven she destroys him, over a mile and further he destroys her - simple.

Frankel has no chance against this Australian racing machine, you pommys will pay when he gets over there and kicks ass.

Hamilton, Thirsk, Folkestone and Yarmouth = Flemington, Randwick, Morphetville and Doomben? I've been to all of them and I'm struggling to picture a Gr1 sprint taking place at the stunning track known at Folkestone.........

Black Caviar wins over 5/6. Frankel wins over a mile+

7 furlongs would be a very good race but I know where I'd have my money! (Black Caviar)

Like thunderRoad said 7f is the fairest distance.

Why not The G1 Foret over 7 furlongs at Longchamp? why does the race have to be in England?

Cecil is an old fashioned trainer,he doesn't really worry about what others think. He won't go against his plans for anyone.I imagine he thinks that Frankel is much too good for her,but is too polite to say so.

The only time Black Caviar will be in front of Frankel is if they go to stud.

Good thinking Brother. This is the race people want to see. Forget Frankel winning over 10 furlongs and BC beating our woeful sprinters. Who cares about those as spectacles?
It shouldn't be a preposterous idea that 2 all-time greats race each other. This opportunity may not come along again in our lifetimes.
Anyone would think one is a 5 furlong horse and the other a 2 miler!
7 furlongs over a flattish track. The anticipation would be tremendous.
By:
Flippit
When: 18 May 12 14:22
Why can't people accept these two great horses for who they are - unbeaten superstars? Why do they HAVE to race eachother to prove themselves?

Why does one horse have to change it's preparation just so that a few people from either country and say "I told ya so"? If they were both six furlong specialists who both had the Diamond Jubilee on their agendas, or both milers with the Queen Anne / Sussex stakes on their schedule, then fair enough. But they are two different horses.

I'm a huge fan of both horses, and I feel very lucky to have seen both in the flesh as I'm unlikely to see two horses of this calibre again in my lifetime.

What I will say is that the Black Caviar connections are travelling her half way around the world to run for less prize money than if they had stayed in Australia. Would the connections of Frankel do the same? Doubtful.

The ONLY way these two meeting would be fair would be if she faced Frankel over six furlongs in England and ten furlongs in Australia - Never going to happen.

Why do they have to race each other? To see who is best? Isn't that what horseracing is about?
By:
Triple-Trigger
When: 18 May 12 14:24
I agree with all of that bar one bit.The golden Jubilee is worth more than 3 of the last 4 races BC has won.Don't now why Moody keeps saying it.

By:

When: 18 May 12 14:29
John, that's just a very one dimensional way to look at it frankly. If they were similar types of horses, yes, I'd agree. However, they're not. If they were ever to meet one would have an obvious advantage and therefore the result would be meaningless (to anyone who understood racing at all), the only thing it would mean is that one of these incredible horses has lost an unbeaten 'tag' for the sake of a few cynical racing "fans".
By:

You are overcomplicating it. The way some people talk on here you'd think they had shares in the horses.
7 furlongs is perfect. Hasn't Moody said he'd race over 7 furlongs?

Racehorses are there to race Flippit, shirley everyone wants to see the best horses clash?

7f wouldn't be unfair on either.

A large majority of Black Caviar's wins have been over 6F, Frankel's 8F and they have both won Group 1's over 7F, perfect innit?

pointless comparing a sprinter with a champion

Frankel = Usain Bolt
Black Caviare = unbeaten 50m runner

how many gold medals get handed out to 50m runners?

It's just not gonna happen and if that 1000/1 shot comes off, it'll be in the Sussex at Goodwood - it's the only opportunity unless a Dawn Run/Buck House kind of match is set up - the Queen Anne doesn't make sense as she won't be able to take up her sprinting challenge.

To say the Aussie mare's connections would be scared is ludicrous as if any side will bottle it...it'll be Frankel's connections!
There is just far too much to lose!

It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things if a mare gets beaten, and when she already has a handful of ready-made excuses, it's Black Caviar that has NOTHING to lose, except a long unbeaten record!

She's up against one of the greatest horses in the history of the game.
She would never have encountered the idiosyncrasies of British tracks, or the appalling weather.
It's likely that it'll be her trying out a new trip and being inconvenienced, whereas conditions will be ideal for Frankel.
She's in a foreign country and will have travelled to the other side of the world to play in Frankel's garden.
- how many times have European horses used that same excuse when our horses have disappointed in Australia/Japan/America?

That cuts both ways - Jet Lag/Acclimatisation affects humans badly enough, so its importance should not be underestimated.

Everything is against the Aussie mare, and if she remains unbeaten, she could change the rules of breeding nominations as the connections of the stallions queueing up for her services might just be paying for the privilege! Surprised

There could be hundreds of millions at stake here concerning Frankel's stallion prospects, and they will not risk Frankel for fear of defeat slashing his value! If they get it on...they'll KNOW he's gonna win!

Still think it'll be Black Caviar's connections chickening out?
Think again...are they flying her around the world for a holiday and just bluffing it?

It's juvenile sabre-rattling to think the Aussies would be the more likely to duck the challenge, as they're here for business and planning on bursting (arguably) the biggest bubble the world of racing has seen.

In my dreams, I want to see Black Caviar trounce everything they throw at her over here, and then fall on her sword against Frankel...before the inevitable jiggery-pokery in the breeding shed next year! Grin

If they have nothing to lose they should race him at Goodwood, already an extra million pounds up for grabs.I'm sure someone else would chuck in a bit more to make the greedy Moody happy. He won't do it because he knows she will lose and he will look a drongo.
