You may have noticed that the Community tab in the header of Betfair.com has changed. We want to explain why this has been done, and also to invite your views and comments: therefore, this thread is not locked and you will be able to leave your feedback. All customer posts will be read and considered.

This change is a trial which we have implemented ahead of the upcoming Cheltenham Festival as it allows us to use the tab to promote other key content on Betfair.com.

The Community and the forums within it are still a very valuable part of Betfair.com: there is a link to the Community in the Top Features area of the homepage, and links are still in place on the sports, football and horse racing home pages.

In the coming months, we will be making changes and improvements which will mean forum content will be easier to find, as well as relevant to the pages and markets it is on.

Correction:

This change is a trial we have implemented ahead of the upcoming Cheltenham Festival as we're certain we're going to get a lot more visitors to the site and it allows us to use the tab to promote other key content on Betfair.com such as Super Slots.

Sorry but what do 'Super Slots' have to do with the Cheltenham Festival?  If the tab has to be removed wouldn't it be better to promote something connected to the extra traffic that will be hitting the site due to Cheltenham and not what it looks like which is an attempt to promote 'Super Slots' which is a pretty reprehensible thing to do if I may say...

can you please leave the site alone for more than one month.

Betfair 2006 was not broken and you have spent 100 Million plus since then breaking it.

and if you get so desperate doing nothing... remove the "are you sure you want to BACK this horse over 100.0"

Please make sure you bring the beta site up to scratch before you make us all use it.   We spent 10 years getting the classic site to be as good as it is, now we are likely to have a new site with unordered unmatched bets, no payout button for laying bets and a host of other issues.

It surprises me you have the time and concern to worry about a slot tab, when the new beta site is still underperforming as a betting medium.

Just had a look - do people actually play that shoite Crazy

Like a bad 70s arcade game

At least the slots give back a little of what they take in,when the jockeys owners and trainers are laying their own horses, they never give back anything. The slots are definitely a better betting medium than AW racing.Well done betfair i say.

yeast - good to see some sensible comment rather than people taking the rise.

mincer - the slots will get 'it all' in the end my friend.  Then it will get some more, then it will take your self respect, then your home, then your wife and family and so on...

why every time some change occurs it's almost invariably for the worse, it's mind boggling

Don't you guys understand that once the wheel was invented it has hardly changed?

Stop dumbing us down...please

since 2001 betfair has been run by 'money men'

Unless they re-employ people like black then they are doomed

The problem is the money men see a curve in arcade....

then they forget about the supply..............

Absolutely awful. How much do you actually take on the rubbish anyway. The virtual racing went t!ts up because there was hardly anything matched. Why should people play Fobts on here. Most of us use Betfair to get away from that crap in the bookies.

Again, echo the sentiments of most of the people on here. Looks like a cheap way to get people to look at the slots tab during Cheltenham week. Come on, you can do better than that eh?
