Nevo finished himself imo. Dont think theres many can make serious money just backing nowadays. Proper players like Mellish,Wazza and AndyL are the mutts nutts of the betting world Happy

So they are both sub-intelligent whereas Dave Nevison is a decent bloke from Sevenoaks on his way to his first million with Bodugi.
Report yeahyeahwhatever January 16, 2012 4:34 PM GMT
from Nevison's book though it always seemed as though his partner (Mike?) was doing all the staking and trading.

I would be amazed if Bodugi makes Nev a million. The site is awful
Report yeahyeahwhatever January 16, 2012 4:36 PM GMT
Sorry, very stupid question, but is Bodugi a betting exchange or what?

I most certainly do not love bingo - what's to love about waiting for some RNG to make you money.  It's completely random, no skill whatsoever.

Maybe Harry's book will tell us how he got the credit on here.

Don't know why people think backing is not enough nowadays. Sure having fast pics etc is great but it is very possible to make a good living just backing, no in running, no fast pics etc. Of course you need to creative on how you get on the sums you need but if I can do it from 6000 miles away can't see how hard it can be when when you have a million and one bookies at your doorstep.

Didn't Nevison start by winning the Scoop 6 or some kind of Saturday accumulator - ITV 6; 5Star Flutter ; Scoop6 - something like that???..
Report obratzov1 January 17, 2012 10:53 AM GMT
racingguru. i personally think it is harder to win these days down to last minute market changes and manipulation. betting intelligence has alway been important to me, but these days you often have to wait until the last 3 minutes before the race to know if a horse is being backed or layed. and this can be a very important factor depending on the stable and/ or connections.

for alot of successful punters , the shops are the only answer because of account restrictions... but shops are no good if you are waiting to see how the betting is going on here.

one of my mates has had to give up gambling after za bad christmas his missus has left him tho ther day, its a tough old game sometimes i wonder why we do it and then i think of the festival in march and i know on that week theres nowhere else im ever gonna be than at home in front of the tv punting like MAD
Report racingguru January 17, 2012 11:20 AM GMT
Ob - I think waiting to last minute market indicators from the track is a dangerous business. Sure you may get more info although much is misleading and you won't have getting on issues as volume is good here then BUT the market will have corrected to very close to the the "correct" odds.

Personally I think the weakness of BF in the early price market has made things so much easier to win as the manipulators and I'm not one of them are doing a fantastic job swaying the bookies to price up early the way they want. Sure to the untrained eye it will look all over the place but the opportunities early are massive - just getting on is the hard part.

Letter in today's RFO from a disgruntled reader saying he won't be buying the paper any more because in his opinion, Nevo was the best thing the RFO had, and his replacement, Birchy, although a "gifted writer", should stick to the greyhounds. Grin

The only reason Peter Thomas never wrote Harry’s autobiography was his total meanness. Harry flew him out first class and treated him like a king, yet throughout the trip he never spent one penny and when presented with a 100 dollar bill at an Indian restaurant on the last night he acted as if he was being given a live hand grenade.
