yes , i'm sure that is the intention of WA [ first post / new username etc ]
BUT i know who has set it it up [ an actual bookmaker with the tech knowhow ] and i've seen it working.
seems very simple and easy to use and seems reliable

I didn't know it was on trial in the butts. I have just seen it advertised in the classified section of the AGT website

it will be but the contact name means nothing to me. check the butts seniority list for the bookmaker
my apologies WA i took it that you were spamming it as your system.
exante know about it [ have done for a while ] but RDT could be **** themselves

i've just looked at the website and yes, thats the very one.
i was very impressed by the simplicity of it. especially as the person running the computer and printing the betting ticket WAS SAT AT HOME

Is that the selling point of this software, that it allows the clerk to work from home? Ive used RDT and Exante and both are fine i.e. they allow you to issue tickets (Far faster than you can take money) and allow you to trade back on exchanges.

adge - all those years of betting next to you and I mean nothing to you! You don't write, you never call..... it's like we're strangers!

Nice to find the software being discussed and, without wanting to be accused of spamming, I will be happy to answer any of your questions.  Guess I should thank whiskyalpha for starting the thread too!

Hi Jimnast, yes really well, very much looking forward to saturday and if we happened to win and play England the following saturday....... On a practical levle if they do get to the semi's i'll have to find a pub in cheltenham showing it or give cheltenham a miss on the 15th.

both saturday games are very close, nothing would surprise me ,if i had to bet i think the most likely team to reach the final from the last 8 would be ireland.

there you are you see now you have the "the man" to talk to

it does make me smile just thinking that when the racecourse security check that all staff have their proper badges , haven't got in with discount coupons or dared to sneek in by the pensioners entrance that when they challenge you and ask to see the workmans badge you can turn round and tell them that

Jimnast - If you were asking if I'm Iain, then yes; I'm sorry though, I haven't worked out who you are yet.

adge - It would make me smile if I weren't the guy who was still going to be out in the cold!

Davy - Yes, along with a friend of mine.  I didn't do a very good job of introducing myself.

Muldvap - Well good luck with this venture. What made you decide to form a business in this area? A gap in market between RDT and Exante?

are you posting from the rowley silver iain or have you booked your hotel now [;)]
By:

When: 06 Oct 11 20:36
Davy - Thanks for that. We have used one of the other providers software in the past but decided we would develop our own.  A case of combining the two fields we know something about!  I'll leave it to others to decide if it fills a gap but hopefully software developed from a bookmakers angle might be something others find useful.

Jimnast - I've got you down to one of two.  I'd make a lousy Columbo - there's just one more thing that's puzzling me, my wife....

What you can call the bets out!... And you can sit at home?... Can the software be linked to the exchanges?...
By:
muldvap
When: 06 Oct 11 21:06
Mystery solved! No wonder it took so long, I never had you down as a Gymnast - that's some disguise!

Regarding the Remote Operator function - it's something that we added to the software along the way because I had some lazy staff who didn't want to travel!  In brief, it allows someone who is sitting at home, or wherever, to work as if they were stood right next to you on the course, they can issue bets (which are printed from your on-course printer), monitor exchange prices, change odds, display to your LED board, etc... everything they would do if they were stood next to you on course, except help you carry the gear!

how far have you got with the new system that gets the joint there already set up via satilite ?
By:

On the mobile joint front, I think Jimmy Rank (pretty sure it's them) are way ahead of us on that innovation, it's like the Pope-mobile!

Who is using it
By:
muldvap
When: 06 Oct 11 21:23
Split screen, why didn't we think of calling it that.  It basically allows the user to display more than one market on the board at any one time e.g. a 7-runner win market along with the corresponding forecast market.

Description on website makes interesting reading. Do I take it the internet connection is similar to the way the Exante system works ? If so that could be a drawback. The unreliable connection at Festival meetings is the system's achilles heel.

oak - For the last year C&T and MJH Racing have been using it.  They'll be using it at Cheltenham next weekend if you're there.

Yep the connection could be scary.. That split screen sounds good!.. Whose board does it use, exante..rdt?.. Btw rdt must be sh....ting thenselves
