BHA charges five in corruption investigation
By Racingpost.com staff 9:32AM 20 MAY 2011

THE Racing Post understands five racing professionals, including four licensed jockeys and one licensed trainer, were on Thursday night charged as part of the BHA's latest racing corruption investigation.

The Racing Post also understands two licensed owners have also been charged as part of the same investigation, while others could been named when the BHA makes an expected announcement on Friday.

They did salmon spray. They clamped down on Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov. It's been suggested that Mr. Kadyrov has been involved in some overly boisterous activities in the past, and the BHA felt that he wasn't the type of chap who should be associated with British racing.

Or the races where one of the fancied runners drifts badly just before the off and then misses the break, catches them up, runs wide on the bend and then is taken back inside to run up the back of horses in front. All this is accompanied by furious riding particularly towards the end of the race when all chance has gone.
We all know the stables where when the horse is not supported it runs a completely different race to when the money's down.
All part and parcel of racing and always has been but so much more obvious these days particularly with the exchanges.
