Well done twelveoak. As there are a max 40 posts per page, you should get £200 each time this thread goes round onto a new page. That should top up your bank nicely. Just don't land on any of those expensive Cannes hotels, and you'll be ok.

funny that the only 2 things you have pulled me up for - the size of my bets, and where my holiday home is, are the only two things that are actually indisputable....

Here is just one of the statements that proved you to be fake 12oak:

First of all on the thread you referred to "fellow pros" indicating that you were a professional punter.

Later in the thread you said you will get back to what you know best - pubs etc....

What are you? A "pro" punter or not??? I think we all know the answer. IF you are a pro-punter, you are pretty bloody awful at it, given you lost your whole bank in a single afternoon....

You'll be the greatest ever if you can make 10% a day every day you play. I notice you don't deduct commission and you haven't said what happens if you go 10% behind for the day, just carry on until bank is 0?

hi buzzer.
commission obviously comes into the equation and there are also methods to deal with bank at any stage of the day. i,m never winning or losing at any stage of the day as its the end of the day that counts.
gl with your trade/bets today.

a slight contradiction there twelveoak, if you are 2k down with one race to go and need/want to win your 10% you'd have to stake accordingly! You should look, if you must, at a potential monthly target then you may last a little longer. Good luck with your venture.

buzzer, the challenge is for a particular amount each day. as in life not all challenges are met on a daily basis. some days we miss our goals, other days we exceed them. the key as you,ve probably heard alot of times is discipline and not going on tilt but your right we all have to be careful in murky waters and protect the bank at all times.if your comments are constructive then fair shout but as hearts said lets try and keep it positive.
good luck today.

Nobody likes to see anyone do their nuts if real money is down but you stated i didn't offer anything until you were losing, when i did offer advice pre chase you explained you had plans in place and your discipline was fine but from the start you only achieved your 'target' through chasing from early on! Many get into the mindset, as you can see from your supporters on this very thread, that chasing is fine and it'll work out but we all know chasing leads to one conclusion whether it's today, tomorrow or next month! You need a staking plan that suits your temperament to win and you need to adhere to it. The thing that concerns me is so many people want you to continue as you are because you have a 'good strike rate' in their words, those are the very people that enjoy seeing car crash threads not the people that warned you how it would all inevitably end. Good luck twelveoak but as overseas states you should start small and attempt to build to see if you're cut out for this but as we all know the thread wont get the same attention then and perhaps that's what you crave Love

excellent points Buzzer....dont think its far to compare like for like...but I found winning long term is purely down to money management/staking plan.  I lay 99% of the time and obviously to make that pay have to be selective.  Won a lot last year and then found the first 4 mths of this year dire due to overstaking on bad horses in poor races.  Happy to play now with a small daily bank and play 3 or 4 races and then enjoy the day.

thats ireland smartie im too poor to buy it and too rich to be given it, I've been messing around with d gees since I was about thirteen but there has been too much boom and bust in the intervening 8 years, Last autumn I decided to get serious about it, For example I had a large bet on Big Bucks at 8's when he won his first WH but I also once had an equally large bet on sixties icon in the prince of wales because Frankie was up and noseda said he was showing more speed in his work, and mainly cos I was bored and greedy. to this day it is the bet im most embarassed about. How can someone reconcile those two decisions? I'm now very serious about every bet I place

No, just stay calm. As long as you have a clear strategy, I have confidence that in the long run I will win. Dont chase unless you want to dodge bullets and ride the storm.
Report twelveoak June 10, 2010 2:29 PM BST
fair comment, i have read previously about systems/staking plans can only work if done to level stakes, no martingaling etc but what i dont understand is that all of us experience losing runs. whats the worst run you,ve had in relation to loses i.e. have you ever had 6 losing bets in a row and wiped out 30% of your bank and if so how do you recover from that?
Report twelveoak June 10, 2010 2:49 PM BST

Report OVERSEAS June 10, 2010 2:53 PM BST
Sorry 12, did type a reply but failed to hit the system.  I use a daily bank so would need 20 losers to wipe me out in a daily sense.  As mainly a layer, my longest losing run is about 3 or 4.  To survive in the long term you have to play the slow game and build slowly...GL
