Betfair has long neglected the Exchange, but this year they have put up more markets for Cheltenham earlier than they have done for years. Perhaps they'll have the sense to put up place markets soon, instead of leaving them till about three days before closing decs.
What I would really like to see now is (very clearly-marked) NRNB markets for the biggest races. I realise they would have to sequestrate funds for liabilities beyond normal antepost markets, but we know they have the technology to do that, because they use it (sporadically, unpredictably, almost randomly) on existing markets.
Bringing back the "winner in any race" market would be a nice thing to see as well.
They used to have ‘win any race ‘didn’t they ….agree about place markets as well…nrnb why not ,and yeah it’s like hills have gone feck chelts we don’t want any ap bets

> Are the bookie NRNB markets with or without R4s for the NRs? Trying to think how an Exch equivalent would would work.
That's interesting. I assumed not, but imagine the bleating if Constitution Hill was a nonner.

I would be against NRNB as it would dilute the existing markets if both are run on the same race. Also, NRNB gives the antepost bookies some crumbs from the table (which keeps them happy whilst fleecing the gullible). It is in Paddy's interest NOT to allow NRNB on the exchange, as doing so would be to allow unnecessary competition to themselves. Lets not rock the boat and just keep things as they are. It's better not to bite the hand that feeds us. But I am an antepost layer so backers may see things differently.

"The hand that feeds us" is an interesting way of looking at it, Mark. That's what it's come to in spite of the PC that we pay them. They have us by the short and curlies.

It's the bookies killing it, though. I just wondered if a market on here would expose their awful books for what they are. Marksman's point is valid. The whole thing is moot because BF have no interest in keeping the Exchange vibrant. The real money is in the slots.
