TD was one of my naps of the festival Cry
Divers connections were happy with his new mark by all accounts...

A bit obvious I know, but Captain Chris would have a real shot if he goes for this.

Should get in around the 11 stone mark if Nicholls does his usual and runs Poquelin in the race

seems a bit steep sint, Long Run couldn't hack it off a few pounds lower Mischief

Suppose the Old Jewson is a normal race to look at, Divers could manage off 7lb higher (trainer unreliable though) Tullamore has decent course form etc

Wouldn't mind seeing Radium in this, ran well at Chelts a few times. 147 may be a little steep though

I think the handicapper has underrated the old Jewson and Divers did it very nicely, so a 7 pound rise is quite lenient imo.

Just looked back at all of the Festival chases and the following are all worth considering depending on stable form in November and suitability of going.

Rubi Light
Tartak (never quite right last year)
Noble Prince
Wishfull Thinking
Quantatativeasing
Medermit.

Tartak won two graded chases last season Sageform and achieved his highest rating.

The Giant Bolster is an interesting one if aimed for the race. He has an excellent record fresh. You would hope his jumping would improve, though.

Agree with TGB sint, would be interesting if they could book a top top jockey for him.

No one seems to have mentioned Mon Parrain yet? Looks a class act on evidence so far and seemed to race too close to the strong pace in the Topham (broke track record). 6/1 available with PP - or was about ten days ago.

L'antartique won the old Jewson for Murphy before taking this the same year. Divers at 15 on here seems about right for now.

Not sure about Divers - I reckon he'll find one or two to good personally...

The Giant Bolster has a shout and Tom Scu could ride.

Loosen My Load if the ground is on the good side.

I would love to see Weird Al run in this, I think he would have a great chance, certainly a better chance than in The Hennessy...

I've backed three in this Divers,Real Dubh and Wishful Thinking. I notice Noble Prince beat WF at level weights also Nobel Prince & RD upsides each other when Noble Prince fell. Having said that RD had beaten him twice before. Interesting though. Especially as NP is the biggest price out of all of them.

Anyone heard anything about DAVES DREAM?. Has not been seen since, disapointing in the AP GOLD CUP,in december last year, (backed down to fav). Has a decent record fresh, and likes the course. Coming from HENDERSON stable,as well, could be worth a second look.

Solving imagine Noble Prince would have top weight almost.Which would be big ask, though like the horse a lot, personally dont think it will travel over and stay at home, re trainers comments.

David Bridgwater will run The Giant Bolster in the totepool Silver Trophy at Chepstow on October 22 before having a crack at the Paddy Power Gold Cup.

The six-year-old looked a novice chaser of enormous potential last season with wins at Worcester and in a decent race at Cheltenham.

However, he failed to get round in either the RSA Chase or the Mildmay Novices' Chase at Aintree and as both were early exits, everybody is in the dark as to how he would have fared against the best.

In an attempt to rebuild his confidence, former jockey Bridgwater will give him a spin over timber in the valuable Chepstow event before returning to Cheltenham.

"He'll run in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow, we'll start him off over hurdles to begin with just to help him get his confidence and give him a pipe-opener," Bridgwater told At The Races.

"After that I hope he'll go for the Paddy Power Gold Cup.

"He's certainly stronger (this year). I know everyone says their horses are better the year after but he looks stronger anyway."
