I'm hoping that they scrap the substitutions, it's so annoying when you pick a brilliant dark horse, then everyone else too lazy to find it can add it in.

And I'd really like it if entries closed before the Classic trials started.

I'm imagining between 10 and 20 lists for me (unless State of Play wins the Grand National and makes me rich).

Nice one for posting that Waiting,no huge surprises, though thought there would be more Snow Fairy's and no sign of Cape Blanco
Report Waiting for Godot July 20, 2011 8:03 AM BST
Cape Blanco added to only 132 lists;however, appeared in a large number of initial lists-6,594
The interest in this list to me lies mainly in finding out whether your "dark horse"proves to be as dark as you had hoped, whether number of the additional listings for particular horse are broadly as expected by you or otherwise
Good news for Laughing Lashes supporters-added to only 18 lists, new total 1,198
Report REM July 21, 2011 12:56 PM BST
Well I'm still hanging in on the fringes and managed to sub in a horse not in those top 25, but I'd be surprised if I can make up much ground. Impressed with the leader having Blue Bunting and Misty For Me, and having only 9 scoring horses so far.

What I don't understand is why the subs are limited to the original 500 horses when so many live contenders are not on the list.

Still think the flat competition should start at Epsom.

But hey, not too long to wait for the jumps... Happy

Lady of the Desert has been retired (brought in Zoffany as cover and hopefully Wootton Bassett will revert to 6f when he comes back) but the one that is seriously pissing me off is Sans Frontieres.

"He'll start in the Yorkshire Cup" - no show; "He'll start in the Hardwicke" - no show; "He'll start in the Princess of Wales" - no show; "Sans Frontiere will make his seasonal reappearance in the Glorious Stakes" - no he won't. Why can't they just STFU or tell the truth about the horse?

And wtf is going on with the yard? Currently 37 wins from 147 runs (strike rate of 26%, level stake profit of £29.82 to a £1 stake) but win prize money of only £141,462. That's an average of £3,822 per race. Save yourself some money Jez, quit Newmarket and take a barn at Wolverhampton.

HUNGARIAN sprinter Overdose, as short as 10-1 with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power for the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York next Friday, has been scratched from the race.

Unbeaten in his first 14 starts, the ‘Budapest Bullet' suffered a surprise defeat in a Group 2 at Baden-Baden last year, but got back to winning ways at Hoppegarten in April.

He was sent off the 9-4 favourite for his British debut in the Temple Stakes at Haydock in May, but was only seventh of 12.

He ran much more creditably in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, finishing fourth behind Prohibit.

What a surprise, I've sneaked on to the monthly leaderboard.

Trouble is I have most of the high scoring horses, but split over two lists. I think York will bring only further frustration, but still have two secret weapons in the Nunthorpe that could propel me into the thick of things.

Anyhow, a touch of autumn in the early morning air tells me that jumps are getting closer. Love
Report sisyphus August 15, 2011 12:13 PM BST
I am the highest scorer with Seville in their list; 16th overall. I dont have Midday (cost me overall prize last year) though. I have a Battalion of groups that would be propelled into the fight also by Seville; with a whole host of York runners. Most of the leaders have negated their subs full scoring potential which will see more people boosted upwards should any of them score. The contest is much more open than in the past at this stage, and that is what is keeping me from getting overly excited at the moment.

Regards Eurystheus...

I think Seville will be a big player especially if they get some more of the torrential rain they had over the weekend. The pace of the Voltiger was muddling, the race played right into the hands of Sea Moon, who was able to switch off and tuck in behind. Seville will not be held up at Doncaster, he will set his own pace and draw out the sting from the sprinters. If the ground comes up soft then up with the pace is where you will need to be. I also think the sharpness of Epsom and York were against Seville where both tracks have favoured hold up horses this year. Docaster will suit him much better as it did in the Racing post trophy last Autumn.
