I'm hoping that they scrap the substitutions, it's so annoying when you pick a brilliant dark horse, then everyone else too lazy to find it can add it in.
And I'd really like it if entries closed before the Classic trials started.
I'm imagining between 10 and 20 lists for me (unless State of Play wins the Grand National and makes me rich).

Wouldnt give the Toat money for this, the fkers wont take antepost bets of any decent size why contribute to this they arent in the spirit of punters having a chance antepost so I reckon punters should boycott their competition and book.

You are way better off having a few antepost accumulators on than taking the pathetic payouts from this competition vs your chances of winning. Only dont try and get them on with the Toat it will be wasting a phone call.

I've won far more on the Flat Ten to Follow than I ever have (and probably ever will) on ante-post accumulators.

Then you have been very very lucky, luckier than someone placing antepost accumulators who has won more.
Seriously, how can you start threads on an antepost forum to advertise a competition to antepost punters when the Toat do not support antepost betting to any amount to the very same punters? Foe example the reason Havant was still a price latest there after the gamble today is likely to be because everyone hung up the phone laughing at how little they were offered on her. Now inform them they dont just run high street casinos in the guise of a bookmaker and to take some decent bets as well just to at least give the impression they are a bookmaker ... just a little effort. |

Not really looked yet...always takes me a while to remember what happened last year, and also to establish which horses will be staying in training from 3 to 4. Ordered the book today, will give it a once over then look at a few other sources of information etc, then start pulling some lists together. Leave a sprinter out if you're not confident about any.

Replies: 2909 29 Mar 11 18:56 I'm suspecting Frankel will be popular. This is why the structure of the comp is way overdue for a revamp along the lines of Fantasy Football comps & the like. As things stand there is very little incentive for anyone not to include a horse like Frankel. Would be much more interesting & challenging if each horse had a rating & your 10 could not exceed a max amount. |

The Tote have ruined this competition over the last few years. There needs to be a guaranteed first prize of around £200,000 for the flat and £400,000 for the jumps. They also need to promote it for longer than the current two weeks. Whoever compiles the list of horses for the competition obviously has a limited knowledge of horseracing. Some of the inclusions and exclusions over the last few years have flabbered my gast!
They also put a lot of people off by having different entry fees for postal and telephone players. I was lucky enough to win 6th prize for the flat in 2004(I think). The first prize then was around £200k. My share was over £6k. |

There seems to be a problem with the dates.
According to the scoring section of the rules in the paper, it starts 1 May. Yet the first bonus race is the Two Thousand Guineas which is run the day before the competition starts. Ah, but the how to enter section at the beginning says the competition runs from 30 April to 15 October. So the most likely explanation is that the Racing Post cut-and-paste department has just copied last year's rules across but did not notice there are two places the dates needed to be changed for 2011. Unless it is another Racing For Change initiative to confuse the punter. The book says 30 April start too, so that must be correct and they will fix the dates in the paper. |

what's the format : 3 x 3 year old colts,2 x 3 year old fillies,5 older horses? or 6 3 year old and 4 older horses? atleast 5 older horses i would class as bankers this year.......difficult as always.This thread would have around 100 plus comments with a week to go to entries normally,shows the lack of interest and with TTF only doing between 10-20 i rest my case................. |

I've just put my lists on (then had a call from credit card company to confirm transaction). I've not relied as heavily on Canford Cliffs as some of you, but have put Frankel in as a banker.
