Our Girl Salley - won a very good mares listed hurdle yesterday on only her 2nd start over the smaller obstacles. Wasn't even fully fit yesterday either. Not many mares win 3 bumpers either.
Zaidpour - don't mind the defeat the other day, the race came too quick for him after the Royal Bond. This lad is the real deal [;)]
Presumably you thin exactly the same re Mikael D'Haguenet?
Zaidpour didn't go on heavy, wouldn't worry about his chances in the Supreme.

I quite liked a 2yo of Brian Meehans .. Marden. Was left at the start in the maiden he won and was very green up the finishing hill at Leicester that day. Plenty more to come imo

When pressed for a horse other than Frankel the other day Lord Grimthorpe said Picture Editor. Interesting considering the talent they have (inc that old plodder Sea Moon!). Obviously not lost the faith despite Newmarket.
Picture Editor well exposed last time out the first time he met anything with 4 legs. They are using him to keep attention away from Frankel re the Derby until after the Guineas imo.
u could well be right. Certainly looked short of the standard but trainer adamant he had gone over the top.

Yes I am sure you know much more than him Alvarado and if you could read you would see I did not pick Frankel. Why the need for the abuse? Are you really a football supporter? Sea Moon could well improve next year but he would have to on what he has shown so far. The form of his maidens so far is appalling and my guess is he'll start off in handicaps.

How could anyone possibly pick a Flat Horse on this thread?
Because the thread asks us to name a horse for 2011. It doesnt ask us to name a NH horse for 2011.
I'm not sure if this is meant to be a bit of a dark horse thread but Workforce although unoriginal will be a very very good 4 year old. Otherwise Carlton House.
I also like Recital and have been chipping away ante post on Zoowraa for 1000G

Time for Rupert as a banker for Cheltenham and for the flat Harris Tweed who I think will easily win the Chester Cup before picking more big staying handicaps through the summer.
Rectal, will be in behind early thrusting hard and coming late, banging away like the clappers until a climax resembling the earth crashing into the moon. Alas it wont be enough with Frankel hardon the steel ready to take them down.
Would have said Frankel but could be a bit boring if he is kept to a mile after the Guineas ... will be wondering what could have been with him when he will be beating 2nd raters in the Sussex Stakes etc.
Nathaniel - beautifully bred and ran well in two very hot maidens, chasing home Frankel and being pipped by Picture Editor when probably thinking he had done enough. Bred to improve for step up in trip and well liked by Jonny G. Could have found him an easy backend maiden but said he wanted to save him. 50's with Coral for Epsom and potentially at least group level imo.
^ On a similar line Genius Beast, who was 3rd in both those maidens is bred to be a much better 3 year old.

This horse and the winner pulled 9 lengths clear of the third in a time only fractionally slower than Carlton House in the second division of the maiden later on the same card and everyone was raving about CH afterwards.
From a middle distance family I hope to see him early doors in a Newbury or Newmarket maiden.

Good spot pf trader, i noticed the fifteenth horse home that day won a kempton maiden nto 'orangeace'. The time looked good also, the only thing i'd say about the line with carlton house is that ch had to switch from a disadvantaged high draw and the ground got a lot slower as the day went on and there were 4 races between them.

Notable Graduate - D K Weld. Galileo half brother to Refuse to Bend and Media Puzzle who finished a promising half length second on his only start in a Leopardstown maiden over a mile in October. Looks sure to be suited by middle distances.

Too short to be backing today, but will hopefully be another stepping stone to the DN Mares.

Alileo, Notable Graduate is a colt I am also very much looking forward to seeing this year. The way in which he came clear of the rest of the field and only failed to reel in a subsequent Listed winner (who had more experience than him) marks him down as potentially very, very good.
Mattoral P Makin nice hcap prospect,with some scope as 3 year old.
also watch grumeti of michael bells . absolutely certain to win 1st time this year has looked useless as a 2yo but has really grown up
I thought he showed a lot more promise on his third start at Newbury; really liked the way he moved through to dispute the running around three furlongs out before steadily fading. I think he will make a really nice middle distance handicapper this year, and an opening mark of 65 looks a very fair starting point.

Subsequently showed real promise travelling really well not knocked about finishing 3rd to pathfork @ the Curragh with Mawatheeq close up in 4th (& subsequently won maiden then finished 2nd to Casamento in the Beresford)

Verdant: Abdulla/Stoute looks the type that can take some group races this year over 10-12f
take what you can for the derby now..around 33s i think.. frankel is a mile horse wont go much further..domination has been showing more at home

because its yet to hit a racecourse, so 33s for an unraced at antepost is incredibly short...
bu ll sh it if they thought that horse was better than frankel it would not be 33s not in a million years greek well was fav for the derby at 10-1 a he was unraced a few years back

i plain cant believe it's been showing more than Frankel...Frankel is a keen-going Group 1 winner likely to prove a miler, he must work the house down....if this middle-distance bred horse is working better, he's either Pegasus, a Morning Glory or too keen to stay as far as he's bred to imo

I wish I had a tenner for everytime we hear a stable with superstar actually has a better one at home.

A very pleasing reapperance from my selection - maybe my bits and pieces for the Derby at 300/1 or so aren't such a waste of money
