Let battle commence again...........

A few without SNA might be a good idea, in case he wins nothing.
I'll decide later. |

I see the book is under a new format for the Flat 2010. Racing Post Guide to the Flat 2010 @ £7.50 inc. Ten To Follow
|
By:
yeah.
Anyone got the book yet? I'm waiting for mine. |
By:
Will be trying to avoid sprinters in my lists although i did like that performance by Inxile yesterday. 50 lists TTF? or a reduced number for the flat? ordering my book tomorrow, anyone know how many horses are listed? or any changes to the rules for this year
|
By:
I just can't get enthusiastic about the flat, but oddly I've always enjoyed most success with it. So perhaps a dabble is called for.
|
By:
DREVB.
400 I think. |
By:
When can you start entering please?
|
By:
Usually a couple of weeks before Guineas.
I'd guess 12th or 19th April. |
By:
i paired Ghannati and Sea The Stars in the same list last season but no Fame and Glory/Mastercraftsman,always the case! ordered the book today, here we go again............
|
By:
TTF i thought you meant you were entering 400 lists at first ! ha
|
By:
Got the book yesterday. Had a quick look through, there are 250 horses in the competition and it starts on 2000 Guineas day. The book also has stable tours with 8 of the leading UK yards.
|
By:
20 lists I reckon.
|
By:
hmmmmm only 250 to pick from eh,makes it a bit easier, have they split the horses into categories like 'classic colts' , 'classic fillies' etc Hawk? probably around 6 lists for me,bet the winning pot isn't what we would hope for,but we all reduce our entries for the flat so no surprise
|
By:
Main pot £47k I guess.
|
By:
The horses are listed in alphabetical order, and not divided into categories. Looks like they have listened to some of the negative comments about last year's book.
|
By:
HWL. It wasn't a problem with a divided book, it was the alphabetical list on the website being divided into 6 categories that was the problem imo.
|
By:
i thought it was alright what they did last year, presume we all get the list of horses through the post aswell, less time consuming when last year i based my lists on :
3 x 3 year old classic colts 2 x 3 year old classic fillies 2 x older horses over 10f and 12f 1 older miler 1 stayer 1 sprinter Time to omit the sprinter this season |
By:
Unless that Hungarian hotpot is fit and well again maybe.
|
By:
No book yet. :(
|
By:
Got my book yest, not sure if i ordered the right one,£7.50 (with postage) which is cheaper and does list the horses in comp but diff layout.the 2 fillies Rainbow View and Fantasia i expected to mop up last season are listed, they are the types you omit and come back to haunt........
|
By:
DRVEB.
I believe that to be The Good Book. |
By:
i always look for Montjeu 3 year old colts and after checking book only 3 listed all trained by AOB,the obvious one : SNA,Jan Vermeer and Joshua Tree, they will all be in somewhere, one thing i didn't do last season is to pay to close attention to the fillies trials as said earlier thought RV and Fantasia would do the business,Sariska (a running on 4th in one of the trials) could easily have been picked in hindsight and nearly picked up 100 points
|
By:
I must say that I prefer the Flat because I seem to do better there but, if the last few years is any guide, the Tote/Racing Post will ruin the competition by not advertising it properly and messing around with the start date and bonus races etc.
It will be interesting to see what the 1st prize is this year. It used to be around 200k. |
By:
Still no book. :(
I'll settle for £115k as the winners prize. |
By:
TEN2- I have the book , anything you would like to know ?
|
By:
I only ordered the book yesterday. Expected tomorrow, I hope.
Any changes to the competition since last year, cc? |
By:
CLERK - HI .
I've never actually entered the compy before so i don't know if there are any changes . The rules are : pick 10 compy runs from 1st may - 16th oct online entries cost £ 10 , postal entries £12 two bonus horses can be added there are 20 bonus point races . |
By:
The compy should really be called the best 10 of your 12 to follow !
|
By:
Thanks CC.
I'm assuming that they are the same bonus races as last year. If that is the case, it is the same as last year. |
By:
