Crayford Tuesday Racing cancelled

a full card was put up with two four dog and 10 five dog so something must have happened with the trainers.......

should be 4 meetings every week winja, 3 graded + 1 open
preferably dropping fri afternoon give them time to work the track

following a protest from the trainers a level of common sense has finally caught up with the promoters and from this Thursday the race cards will be reduced to 10 races from 12 so over the week its eight less graded races....its a start....

scrapping a full meeting would have been better but 10 race cards is an improvement

How did all those tracks ever cope with just 8 race cards?

entain could not have handled the situation with crayford any worse....looking to cut run money when there is a shortage of runners....complaints of large numbers of dogs going lame....ricky has said he will not enter his dogs for the lower rate and jean liles has said she is resting her dogs and may well be considering a move away.....

The open card on Sunday has also been reduced to 10 races with this weeks offering being supported with 4 graded races.....

crayford has gone from being an organised establishment to a clowns show.....how they can put up a card with more races than had been agreed using graded runners....of which we have a shortfall hence the reduction in races.....then to cancel the meeting most probably due to a further trainers revolt....is shambolic management of the highest order....and to be fair the racing manager is not called coco and he doesn't wear a red nose.....whoever is calling the shots needs to be replaced as otherwise this is clearly the beginning of the end of the remaining stadiums......

it was obvious years ago with the drop off in breeding that there won't be enough dogs for the schedule

absolutely agree....if the promoters want more product for the lost, lonely and bewildered who live in betting shops, then put on more cartoons....they dont know what they are betting on anyhow.....cutting the run money has lost the open meeting then to put on a grade card using dogs required for the weeks cards is just b0llox...

has there been any change in the Insane amount of racing for next year ?

it was £100 now cut to £65 and Ricky has said he will not enter dogs for races with the reduced amount.....i admire his stand.....

So was that 100 quid for finishing 2nd to 6th in an open?

no graded has stayed the same which was £45 for A10 up to £60 for S1.....

Entain have now reversed the proposed run money cut and have confirmed that all minor opens will carry a £350 purse to the winner with £100 pounds for all others.....trainer power has made them understand the error of their ways and that is to be commended but its not healthy for one party to have that much control over the other......best if they were both to work in a collaborative manner so everyone receives the service required with remuneration which recognises the true cost of supply.......

crayford have posted that Tuesday meetings for the next three weeks will be cancelled while they try and increase the kennel strength.....however they have now increased the three remaining graded meetings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday back to 12 race cards so effectively they have lost 12 races from the previous programme of racing (4 additional from the 10 card reduction) but its also a journey less for the trainers........they have not said if the Tuesday meetings will resume after this hiatus which undoubtedly will depend on the results it generates....again its a good move in the circumstances but a shame they have not kept the race day cards to 10 which would really have an impact...........

6 six dog races and 6 five dog races today so the cut in racing is definitely helping......also 11 six dog opens and 1 five dog open tomorrow so the reinstatement of run money also seems to have solve the problem which arose out of the promoters own making.....

all tuesdays are now cancelled for the year and most probably for ever.....i thought i would put the last post on this thread even though the crayford closing thread would be more apt as it is more than likely the last post for crayford as a stadium.....fooking unbelievable the power some coonts have.....
