racehorses get loose in Newmarket , there's no end of sheep, cows , horses , ponies on the roads over here Doc, surprised you find it shocking tbh

true story for you.
used to race at oldham regular,
many years ago there was a new dog,
gambled off the boards boom out and gone,got to first bend kept going jumped
over the wall out the gate and down the road.
about a month later the dog turned up for another race,guess what happened,
gambled off the boards,boom out and gone,
yes thats right kept going at first bend over the wall out the gate and down the road.
it never came back for another race.

this is a classic , one of many stories over here of ponies/horses finding their ways out of fields and arenas , this fence was electric , despite the horse getting a shock at one stage it didn't flinch from its task
