2015 Derby to have ‘win and you’re in’ events
By Jim Cremin 2:29PM 25 JUN 2014 A SERIES of ‘win and you’re in’ events will precede next year’s William Hill Derby. “We’re planning a series of eight valuable build-ups, worth £2,500 to each winner in their own right, which will also carry free entry into our big one,” said Hills' Kate Miller. “Three of these will be at Wimbledon in the month beforehand, and also at various tracks around the country [to be agreed] plus possibly one in Ireland too. “Reflecting our commitment to the grass roots, we’ve given some thought to ways of celebrating high achievers through the sport, and we’re going to talk to the Greyhound Writers’ Association about a series of awards, involving cash prizes, that we might make at the 2015 Leger. “We’d like to involve RPGTV and Sky viewers and set up a voting method through social media – it will be about delivering fun and recognition, something that Ralph [Topping] has made watchwords within Hills.” |

“We’re planning a series of eight valuable build-ups, worth £2,500 to each winner in their own right, which will also carry free entry into our big one" .. not a GOLDEN TICKET surely ? .... good to see somebody reads this forum and acts upon it !

"A SERIES of ‘win and you’re in’ events will precede next year’s William Hill Derby" |
By:

I see the three lowest prices on here are the last three prices at the bottom of the list
Probrably the best guide as to why not to try and pick the winner at this time of the year Some however will no doubt get the pin out |

66/1 Rio Quattro, each-way. In the semis of the Henlow Derby last night, Leamaneigh Turbo took a flier but Quattro still went over 2 lengths quicker in record time. Will be about the right age, too
|
By:
Ain't they has past problems with the dog hence him missing last years Derby
|
By:
And ya all but called him a fighter the other day now want to be him to win the Derby?
|
By:
Only what people said, missed it if it ever happened. Left Mesut for dead last night anyway. Remember there was a quirky dog called Holdem Spy people wanted to be all over, anyway
|
By:
Maybe he's over his niggles, judged on last night?
|
By:
66/1 .... wow I have followed you in woody

You talking in secret code again, Lanza?
|
By:
hi woody, just bumping the thread, was like a few pages back off the radar.
Been quite difficult this year to get dogs added, more so than last year. Personally getting lots of dog requests declined. Asked for about 20 last week in 2 emails, think i got 4 added and not really the ones i wanted or thought they would add. |
By:
Glad youre still around. I'll try to add the odd snippet now and then
|
By:
I see almost all bookmakers are quoting Razldazl Oisin at 50 or 66 for the Derby. I can only find one sprint trial for him.
What am I missing - help PF or others thanks. |
By:
id suggest he was 50/1 that you might be able get him added to the betfair list let alone win it.
looked at his oddchecker price movements to see if they kinda fit in with his only trial but only noticed 2 changes in prices. 365....went from 80 to 50 on the 5th december. tote...50 on the 29oct to suspended/no show on 11/11/14. could be something happened on those suspend dates, could be company trader only just noticed some large red on the dog? could be 365 sticking his neck back into line. lol. some of the other books only recently added him to their lists: hills 1st dec ....pp 4th....sky 8th....boyle 14th, victor had him 66 since july...no change in price there. was also added in july by 365, would have been around 16months old. his only trial i can find on igb site.. 24-oct-14 17.55 Nwb seems ok-good time for a dog around 18-19 months old. I think he'l be a good age come derby time alsoaround 2yrs 2months, similar to last few winners. thrown by jayfkay and kinloch brae there (has had loads of derby finalists) and then you put razldazl bit infont of it, could be the next quick one off the production line. iv asked for loads of dogs to be added some months back, since the market opended, not sure id asked for this one tho. Will fire off an email now. |
By:
ok just sent off the email request, will see if they add him shortly.
if anyone would like to request a dog, iv had most luck sending the emails to this address support.en@betfair.com with the header 2015 english greyhound derby additional runner request (on the exchange) |

Not sure next year's leading juveniles like Newinn Yolo and Swift Hoffman will cut the mustard in the Derby now. Easy to say, but this Irish star Laughil Blake is a flying machine, Wimbo looks tailor-made and make them all go if he comes over. I'm keeping a close eye on Irish bitch Belles Direction, although withdrawn from a recent competition. Also, this Bubbly Zeus won well in the Irish National Puppy final last Saturday
|
By:
somebody chop off Belles Direction's willy??
|
By:
pf. haha woody.
