Tote Gold Collar - Win Market 2009-12-11 Favourites: Fatboyz Nodrog (7/2) , De Ex Factor (5) , Deanridge Fury (5) , Droopys Kina (12) , Marked Urgent (12) , Titan Tyrone (12) , Archaton Pine (14) , Droopys Lee (14) , Pluto Rocket (14) , Anagram (16) , Hee Haws Montana (20) , Nambisco (20) , Cuil Running (25) , Cuil Class (28) , Georgeisgorgeous (28) , Glencullen Lad (28) , Solid Louis (28) , Sir Larry (33) , Ballintine Hugh (66) , Dubh Dorcha (66) - Others 66 or more
Heat1-Droopys Lee should prove tough to beat with a good break- Georgeisgorgeous should nt be too far away at the death, very strong stayer but mite just be too far back
Heat 2-weak race imo, if Solid Louis in 2 can ping again he will be very hard to peg back in this field, judge jules in 3 is better than his last run wen finding trouble and can chase the 2 home
Heat 3 is a bit tasty-Was a bit surprising Fatboyz could nt win in the first round imo and would be takin him on here- Deanridge Fury and himself both likely to blaze the trail-Dee Ex Factor seriously quick but a bit of a thinker?? Think the race could be set up nicely for him here to chase down the 2 early birds
Heat 4- Archaton Pine in 3 likely to be the early pace setter here but i dont think he can hold the late run of Marked Urgent who looks plotted up in1- Titan Tyrone in 6 can chase em home
O/r bets- De Ex Factor e/w 5/1 Marked Urgent e/w 12/1
Larry ORourkes Droopys Lee (Westmead Hawk/ Droopys Maddy) gave a fine strong running performance in winning the opening second round heat of the Tote Gold Collar at Harolds Cross on Friday night.
Nambisco set a fast pace to the third bend where Droopys Lee shot past and powered home a two and a half length winner from strong staying Jackella in 29.81. It was another length and a half to Nambisco in third.
Just a spot back on the clock was the David and Janice Jordan owned Archaton Pine (Pinewood Blue/ Archaton Lass) as he won Heat 4 in 29.82. He was fast into stride and led by six lengths at halfway. At this stage Hee Haws Montana moved second and flew up the straight but Archaton held him by a length.
The Lar Kinsella trained track specialist Sir Larry (Crash/ Forest Hanna) came with a strong run to win the second heat in 30.29. Judge Jules set a strong gallop but Tony Hatchs Sir Larry went past off the final bend and won by a length and a half from strong finishing Solid Louis.
The third heat was a messy affair with Deanridge Fury taking a massive tumble on the opening bend from where Cuil Class led the slow starting Fatboyz Nodrog. However Pat Gordons Fatboyz Nodrog (Crash/ Whitefort Pride) hit the front at the 750 box and raced on strongly to hold the late run of De Ex Factor by a length and a half in 30.09.
* Rest of Harolds Cross action in Weekend Report.
