EYE ONTHE STORM glided round Wimbledons 460-metre course before racing on Tuesday night in a sparkling 27.54sec, before a likely appearance on the William Hill Oaks support card next Tuesday.

Enjoying a solo spin following the non-arrival of Ten Large Down the van transporting him to south London broke down the 16-1 favourite for the Derby recorded a 3.93sec split and hugged the inside rail throughout.

Eye Onthe Storms time, though, was eclipsed by the Charlie Lister-trained Yahoo Jamie, who clocked 27.52sec in defeating Mecano by seven and three-quarter lengths. A stunning 3.83sec split enabled the winner of opens at Sheffield and Nottingham to bullet clear.

Ballymac Ace stopped the clock at 27.72sec, while Eye Onthe Flash beat Ardmayle Haulage by two and three-quarter lengths in 27.78sec. Roo Come On proved a length too good for Star Gaze in another workout, recording 28.01sec.
