You could be right, i think Betfair are seeding certain markets.
If you put 8.6 to back a dog, ahead of the "8.8" merchants and the other side is 3.2 as the market has not formed, you will see that, automatically, a bet of "8.4" appears, a split second after your "8.6" entry.
If you remove your entry, the "8.4" entry immediately disappears, as well....
