:(

Some of you may remember a thread on here a while ago by the owner of Blonde Lucy when she did not get accepted for the Warwickshire Oaks at Coventry .

As a result of his frustration, I purchased her. I am now in the same situation as he was.

Lucy was entered for the **es race on sky at Nottingham on thursday and I received a phone call to say she had not got in but they could put her in a supporting non Sky race due to the high quality of entries they received.

I have just returned home and seen the race and to say I am ****** off is an understatement.

No disrespect to any of the **es accepted, but Lucy beat 2 of them at HG recently and went faster in her heat than another runner who reached the Midland Oaks Final.

She has then gone on to reach the Northern Oaks Final, not to mention her 'course form', having finished runner up in the Caffreys Oaks Final and winning the **es heat of the Guys and Dolls.

I will be ringing the Racing Office to express my feelings in the morning, and would be withdrawing her from the supporting race but for the fact that she would need a retrial in time for the Oaks at Wimbledon next week.

Think she has a decent chance if leading the red up...not the point though, only reason I can think of why she didn't get in is trainers name :(

Mind you, he is a **** :^0

Thats half the trouble with the sport, the ones that are paid to do a job in the industry know much less than those who do it as a hobby.

Too true Bishy, BTW I will happily listen to any sensible posters who can justify the RM's decision, as we all have rose tinted glasses when discussing our own dogs.

There are many owners, including myself, who have shared the same treatment. There are too many racing managers out there that are clueless, especially on the open circuit. Some of their decisions are incredible, and you have a point about Blonde Lucy, she should never have been left out.

of course thats the reason SJ, it not the dogs name that racing staff look at, its the trainers name that matters 100 per cent

icemaid lilley 50/50
droopys judith - would pick b4 yours
plan - would pick b4 yours
beau city - would probably of picked b4 yours -local trainer too
blonde dee - would pick b4 yours
milly marina - this is one i guess youre referring too, i would have picked yours b4 this everytime

you have plenty of 30.40-30.50 runs over the trip

you should change your name clive lister, and then just ring up and say C Lister trainer, job done B-)

Im affraid the sport employs 2 bob people who make 2 bob decisions, who are paid 2 bob wages. You get what you pay for.

Ravage

icemaid lilley - No Notts form and slower than Lucy on both her runs at HG
droopys judith - Similar Notts times and finished 4 lths behind Lucy at HG only time they met
plan - Would bow to her on overall form but only beat us a hd at HG and we beat her only other meeting at Notts
beau city - Nice improving sort but only competed at this level last few races and only one decent clock on card, local runner though
blonde dee - I have Ring Ouzel listed in 5?? Nice ** but again finished behind us at HG on only meeting
milly marina - Again nice young improving ** similar to T4, wasn't specifically referring to her at all, and as a wide seed I suppose you could argue her case on the make up of a race.

Not saying for a minute that they're not all very decent **es, just don't understand how RM's arrive at the best 6.

If the race had been Plan, Little Jig, Blonde Dee, Pine Isle, Droopys Flo, Sunoak Crystal I wouldn't have had any complaints!!!

SPOT

Why only put half the sentence???

There won't be a fine as I am clearly not withdrawing her although I feel like it at the moment, and trust me, the fine is insignificant compared to the costs of being an owner/trainer.

though i do feel you should go on overall recent form and times, rather than say dog a beat dog b, only time ran against one another, so always pick dog a first is wrong

I've recently experienced the same situation. Cat 1 finalist (3rd) not accepted for an open at Monmore.
