They got off to a bad start yesterday evening at the opening ceremony when they turned up in what looked like their dressing gowns. I thought then they were doomed to fail.

Did I hear correctly - five rookies in the U.S. Solheim team?
And Luke Donald excludes an in-form Pole for the Ryder team?  What a mistake.

I can't believe that Hall was chosen for the foursomes this morning after her abject display on the greens yesterday.

My comment on Hall yesterday was prescient.

That were some absolute garbage performances. Wasn´t easy to lose this Solheim Cup, but they did excellent. The veterans Hall, Hull, Boutier and Nordqvist (even her win was a total ****how) were horrible.

They're celebrating as if they won the bloody thing. It was a draw FFS.

Why not mention the big positives? Ciganda was under huge pressure in her home country and the result hung on how she played the last holes and she was brilliant.  It was an away match for every player apart from her so apart from the time difference it was as alien a course to the Swedes as it was to the Americans. Hall was really poor and had numerous chances to win her match easily but seemed completely overawed by the occasion. Maguire was always in control and Hedwall finished really well so plenty to be positive about.

I enjoyed the event but let's be honest - a draw in a home game is a disappointment.

They should really change the rules in these team events so that the away team takes the trophy in the case of a draw.

Great start this morning and finished in time to get a walk in before the afternoon session.

If there's genuine illness (rumours of Covid?) in the US camp this could just degenerate into farce especially tomorrow when all 12 have to play.

USA have been awful for whatever reason(s).  It really is a non event from a spectators view.  If it were a boxing fight it would be stopped.

Not over yet but the USA need a clean sweep this afternoon to have a realistic chance tomorrow. I don't agree that it is no longer worth watching. There are some world class shots and some close matches even if the overall score is one sided. John Rahm has been really special at crunch points.

Strange decision by Donald to bench Rahm and bring in a couple of no hopers. If US win this session 4-0 they are back in it. Rahm didn't seem too enamoured by the decision in his interview.

It did make sense in that Rahm would only have had an hour break. Hovland has been almost faultless in 3 sessions yet is hopeless this afternoon so hard to predict how any of them will react to having to play twice. Spieth seems to be just getting his eye in at last so I fear him in the singles.

Have the Americans a really won a match in the first three sessions?

Spieth is a liability and shouldn't have been picked, bonkers to think he was looking like a dominant figure a few years ago

for those of you who have experience of watching previous ryder cups, when europe reach 14.5 points tomorrow how do ye see the rest of the games going in terms of effort from both sides?

Europe dominant after being hammered in the US last time out. Yes some players have changed but really shows how much advantage to playing at home.

Have to say though on that point, some of the home 'fans' have been embarrassing to say the least - shouts of "get in the water", jeering at players etc etc. Getting as bad as the American fans.

I have to say that these have been the worst fans that I've seen at a Ryder Cup. Totally unsportsmanlike.
