No longer slated to be held at Trump National Bedminster. Hardly a shock. Hopefully the PGA take the opportunity to experiment and try out that outside of the USA tournament talked about a couple of years back, Royal Melbourne anybody? With the time zone difference it would be on in prime time in America Excited

Yes I know it won't happen Plain

No chance of The Open returning to Turnberry while his name is on the gates now Sad

Be interesting to see if business goes down the drain after this at Turnberry. Maybe he will need to sell it.

Shall we start a golf forum consortium and table an offer?

Couple hundred Yanks invading a building in Washington will not stop Scots playing Golf...

Hopefully it makes him a tad more realistic about his pricing strategy though.

Excited

They won't stop playing golf but will they play golf somewhere else? Or won't be fussed?

R&A statement - “We had no plans to stage any of our championships at Turnberry and will not do so in the foreseeable future. We will not return until we are convinced that the focus will be on the championship, the players and the course itself and we do not believe that is achievable in the current circumstances.”

So Turnberry out until sold and even then will be years later and who knows when Muirfield will be back? Probably the two best courses on the rota Sad

On the plus side we may get back to Portrush earlier than expected.

Get Kingsbarns in, Get Carnoustie in more...

Was never a course for the common golfer Rhino, too expensive and elite.

Those who were playing there will continue to do so for sure...

Gut has been a complete cretin for decades, it just so happens the whole world now knows this fact.

Think he ends up in jail myself.

Portrush may be a good course Rhino, but the tourney was utterly dire.
Imo...
Last 18 a cakewalk. 2,3 with an outside chance at best.

Politics aside.....he does a good job on the golf courses...though the pricing is absurd. I remember getting onto the Ailsa for less than 40 quid. My mate was a legend though (overheard computers were down) so we blagged it we were staying at the Hotel and got the residents rate and twilight.
