Find this interesting for the future. Over the last two years, PGA Tour events with a strength-of-field rating of 400+ have virtually all been won by a top 30 or so player, prominent in betting.

Three exceptions:

Reavie
Pan
Kokrak

Two of these were the week after a major.

how many pga events per year would constitute a 400+ strength of field rating, all of them? the real question is what the profit on backing the top 30 players on here? its too small a sample and would 1 more outsider tip the scales

I don't think he's suggesting to back all the top 30 in betting, more just suggesting to not bother looking beyond them as the winner is in there somewhere. There are generally around 20 or so events a year with a 400+ rating so it's definitely not all of them.

Trouble is on the SL site hes included his other bets for the TPC in his overall profit/loss but all lost,i'm just including the outright ones pre tournament and nothing else if he does start doing so

That's why you have to judge over the whole season though isn't it xmoney-  anyone can have  a good or bad run. I don't back his picks, but I do love reading his opinions and sometimes gives me a thought for inrunning. Btw why isn't the other tipster having his p/l done?

I used to do his p/l for a year when he had a good year with something like 18 winners the next year a disaster
