Happy new year golf punters. Here we go again then. I quite like these small fields and we have a good mix of debutants and old hands. A fairly conservative and obvious start from me. DJ, Reed, JT and Champ for me. Talk of redesign taking away the big hitter advantage, but probably not going to start to impact this year. GL all.
Catch Me ifyoucan • January 7, 2019 3:07 PM GMT Woodland led by 3, shot -5 & lost... Schauffele shoots an 11-under final round to tie the tournament course record...incredible 2 eagle 62, after an opening hole bogey. The lowest final round score to par by the winner on the PGA Tour in 8.5 years, since Stuart Appleby's closing 59 at Greenbrier in 2010. (The previous lowest final round shot by a winner at The Plantation Course was 64 by Sergio in 2002).

yeah I dodged a bullet after JT losing the plot - didn't seem much to that potential winner in regulation - and that eagle shot in the playoff - well...

Glad it's worked out for you, the last hour has made this my best Kapalua for many a year. Just checking the forecast, looks like a windy week over in Honolulu so next week should be fun too.

Too much stress to start the year! backing players this week, but back to regular field next week I will be laying again - I certainly won't be laying Kuch like I did last year - still think I layed him at value odds, but not much consolation when they hose home is it - plus I can't stand him - makes the loss sting more - silly I know

Nah, I get that, I really dislike Brooks, which regularly ruins majors for me, it can be hard to set things aside and not end up red on the guys you don't like. Reed is a funny one, he's clearly a bad guy but I do admire his toughness in the mix.

Gritty stuff from JT in the end. Still needs to show more in the big ones but the way he plays the weekly grind fancy he's a shot to end the year at number one.
