That guy would do anything for a buck...or to save one. Clearly has no sense of fairness.  The girl referee was pathetic

Third example this year of Kuchar showing us the type of person he is. I'd imagine if you shared a room with him and he was hungry you'd wake up and he'd be eating your liver.

so in Dubai next year, anyone landing in a snide lie on those waste areas can just do a passable impersonation of a mole n finish with the ball  teed up nice n high ?

not seen this can someone update please

Ball finished in a depression in a waste area (sand, no different to a bunker) he asked ref if he could move small stones, took one small stone from front of ball then proceeded to remove all sand behind the ball, changed it from a lie he could do little with to being able to get the ball just short of the green and made his par.

Shame that the weather improved in the afternoon and he missed the cut by a shot.
Report Insideshrewdie September 7, 2019 10:28 AM BST
Yes ..a real shame that....thanks Trebor....you hear people singing MK's praises.....his track record in this kind of stuff is about the worst out there..before you even get to doing caddies out of fair comp....

Exactly frames

I've never heard anybody say a good word about Kuchar and doubt I ever will

remember when Andrew Coltart was doing a bit for Sky, Kuchar was practising chipping on course. Andrew asked him a question and yer man totally blanked him. I thought he was a big ignorant man watching that and he has proceeded to endorse that opinion on a regular basis.

He's hardly the first golfer to use the rules to his advantage tbf.  If you are allowed to move stuff then you are allowed to move stuff.

In terms of genuine cheating, Rory somehow got away with flagrant dishonesty in Mexico this year.  But the sycophantic British golf media let him off the hook.
Report trebor September 8, 2019 7:02 PM BST
He may of got away with it with the sycophantic British golf media, but neither he or Dustin on the same hole, or previous hole? got much sympathy on the Betfair golf forum.

What Kuchar did there and at the Memorial is beyond knowing and using the rules to your advantage.

First rule of golf, Etiquette: Golf is played, for the most part, without the supervision of a referee or umpire. The game relies on the integrity of the individual to show consideration for other players to abide by the rules. All players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times. irrespective of how competitive they may be. This is the spirit of the game of golf.

Something I would say Nicklaus played by but far fewer do now.

If you read A Good Walk Spoiled (1995) by John Feinstein you will read that Kucher's father caddied for him on the PGA TOUR and was very inconsiderate to other players.

A good walk spoiled is still my favorite book , love it
Report trevorbrooking September 10, 2019 2:03 PM BST
Haven't read the book but can vividly remember his fathers' histrionics after every shot. Life father like son eh!

Of course he isn't the first golfer to exploit the rules or bully a referee but Friday was a very bad example of sportsmanship (lack off). The way he moved as much sand as possible in as short amount of time as possible showed you he knew he shouldn't be doing this..but greed is a terrible thing!
