Team of three for me here:

Im convinced Joaquin Niemann is going to be a superstar. Started brilliantly last  season and feels like this kind of tight track will suit him pretty well. He's my main bet at 281.

Grillo finished last season very well and has some good form here... he looks stand out value at 28/1.

Also like Beau Hossler at 40/1. Top Fives at Houston, Travelers and the Quicken Loans last season, he's from California and should be right at home back on the Poa Annua greens which clearly aren't for everyone.

Hossler is well priced, was expecting him in the 33s range with the bookies, at 42 he's a bet. Happy for Cantlay to be fave but need a little more than 14s in a win only market, has not looked good in contention on Sundays, even the Vegas win this time last year was harder than it needed to be. Sneds at 28s another bet for me. Loves the POA and same price as Wyndham seems a little generous.

Lucas Glover e/w for me (small e/w saver Patrick Rodgers) Cool
Report Can't Catch Me October 3, 2018 7:51 AM BST
Totally agree about Cantlay rhino. Crazy short. For all that the course should suit him, it's still his competitive debut here.
Report therhino October 3, 2018 10:50 AM BST
Hard to believe after last week and traversing the globe twice in about 9 days the market can only identify two players shorter than Phil.
Report sundogmonkey October 3, 2018 3:32 PM BST
Don't forget California King Alex Prugh. As I mentioned in my preview he has 6 top 10s in 16 career starts in Cali & a lot the times when he didn't he play well their he was hopelessly out of form, whereas now he's in good nick.

Abraham Ancer has withdrawn, citing a hand injury so first alternate Robert Garrigus will replace him.

It's that time of year when everyone's frantically googling the new guys when they show up on the leaderboard.  Seems to be a bit of a beast: 6'3 Austrian terminator, generally excellent ball striker according to the stats, win and a top 3 in the last 2 months on the Web so not one to be discounted- tied 3rd with Wright last start at the Web Tour Championship which is no pushover event.  Putting and short game the downside as he just showed on 17.

Comprehensively derailed Rhino, good work.

different course today, no one better than -4
Report Total Bosman October 6, 2018 11:41 PM BST
And only going to be harder tomorrow, fair bit of breeze in the forecast.
Report therhino October 7, 2018 12:12 AM BST
Sam Ryder might not be too far off at the end of play. Seeing very few realistic birdie putts, everyone grinding hard.
Report Total Bosman October 7, 2018 12:32 AM BST
Some really struggling with even a modest amount of breeze so could be real fun and games if it's 20-25mph tomorrow.
Report Total Bosman October 7, 2018 12:33 AM BST
Been on Sam from the start so it can blow as hard as it likes for these last few holes.
Report therhino October 7, 2018 12:43 AM BST
Tedious viewing really. Play far too slow.

Also Tiger, Els, Monty and Faldo to have won a European Tour event 3-times in succession... Hatton's HATTrick was only one swing away, while Steele is 10 shots adrift at T35.

Already looking like a very slow, boring night.
Report Catch Me ifyoucan October 7, 2018 10:00 PM BST
37-y-o Snedeker loves poa annua  - 5 of his wins have come on poa annua greens. His 43rd start in California and has 21 T25 finishes (14 T10's - 7 T3 and 2 wins apiece at Torrey Pines and Pebble Beach). His record here at Silverado is modest (T57-T17).
Report Catch Me ifyoucan October 7, 2018 10:50 PM BST
SNEDS - 5 shot lead thru7 - looking down the wine-barrel at his 10th PGA Tour win in 309 events - to become the 8th player (currently under 40) with double-digit PGA Tour victories.
This is his 11th 54-hole lead/co-lead, previously 4-for-10 converting (two for his last five). When he has a solo third round lead he converted 4-for-6. Winds gusting to 30 mph today won't help.
Report Catch Me ifyoucan October 7, 2018 11:05 PM BST
Most wins - players currently under 40-y-o.

19 - DJ (34)
14 - Rory (29)
13 - Scott (38)
12 - Bubba (39)
12 - Day (30)
11 - Spieth (25)
10 - Sergio (38)
10 - SNEDS (37) ???

3 bogeys in a row and now 2 shot lead. Moore might just be 1 out of the lead in a sec.

Good effort by sneds here to try and hold on for a play off ffs
Report therhino October 8, 2018 1:35 AM BST
Amazing a player of his ilk and experience has this much difficulty closing. Golf is bloody hard.
Report Hank Hill October 8, 2018 1:50 AM BST
yeah of course closing is hard, but 17th and 18th were awful from sneds. btw rhino Texas is back - great win over Oklahoma!
Report Hank Hill October 8, 2018 2:05 AM BST
well, at least he played the playoff hole just like the rest of the rd
Report GRANTCKING October 8, 2018 4:04 PM BST
