Huge huge drift on here,I actually cannot believe there odds against?
Am I missing something, half there team need to play very badly to lose imo.
There a class above the Euros in my view.
Buoyed hugely by Tiger win too surely.

Max bet USA for me,foregoing all the side bets on offer and just piling in. Keep drifting keep betting I think.

I agree with you USA should be shorter
Report jedi sophie September 25, 2018 10:34 PM BST
I bet them earlier today at 1.95 thinking great value...
USA have to be way way under par not to win,or course hugely tricked up.

And this course is just a monster so surely be left well alone.
Report Mighty Whites 2008 September 25, 2018 10:36 PM BST
Think it is too close to call.

As DJ said it will come down to who plays best over the three days.

Over the first four rounds only 8 have to play which may well help europe. Think europe need to be ahead going into sunday.

Home advantage will surely be a big bonus for europe with the crowd and their superior course knowledge. The course itself will mitigate a little against the US team as a number of them will have their biggest strength - bombing it curtailed somewhat.

An interesting stat is the team with lowest average world golf ranking usually loses!
Report jedi sophie September 25, 2018 10:53 PM BST
Some of the USA form troubling but no more so than some of Europe's...
Report jedi sophie September 25, 2018 10:53 PM BST
In my view 2,3 not up to it at all.

USA should win I think.

Thought they were the favourites and that's before Tiger came back and started playing well.

He should serve as an inspiration for them. And ask yourself if you are punting Team europe, if it came down to a match Tiger vs Rory would you have any confidence Rory would get it done?

Worry for USA is form of some of their players like Phil although they can be protected (by not playing.)

More worrying is the form of their star team, Reed and Spieth. Spieth is nicely rested although he has been known to throw in a few water balls so the drives on the 1st and the approach on 18th could find him out. Think how they perform, is pivotal to the outcome of the whole competition, although maybe not, because USA have other key pairings they can throw at Europe.
Report therhino September 26, 2018 8:51 AM BST
Furyk apparently ready to pull the trigger on a Tiger/Phil pairing. Don't let anyone dissuade you Jim! Excited
Report GoBallistic September 26, 2018 9:52 AM BST
It would probably work quite well these days, except that the media would make a huge deal about it and therefore it probably won't happen
Report therhino September 26, 2018 12:28 PM BST
I'd go as far to say as Jim has a responsibility to ensure it does happen, at least for one session. Give the people what they want, tis a glorified exhibition anyways...
Report jedi sophie September 26, 2018 1:29 PM BST
Cannot see Capt sensible Furyk revisiting that. In fact I'd be bloody astonished...

Money

The Lone Ranger never posts his bets...

Think we can all work out why.

Disappeared in embarrassment a few weeks then back having a pop in his usual manner. Tipped one winner, tipped Tiger n Ricky all year right enough but hey let's ignore that for his benefit.

ExcitedLaugh

Isn't that correct Ranger? Everyone an aftertimer bar yourself who was actually posting REMINDERS  to all on the thread who you had selected.

Was ROTFL.ExcitedLaugh

USA not won in Europe for 25 years.  No way I would touch them at odds on.

It has been a European trait to give everyone a game ahead of the singles, wonder if they will do the same this year.  They keep talking about not getting behind this year and I can see the 6 players featuring in most matches.

Like the McIlroy/Olesen pairing, Bjorn trying to repeat the success of Rory/Pieters at Hazeltine, very logical. Spieth/Thomas we were always going to see at some point, if they lose first up you'd have to think he'd revert to Spieth/Reed pretty quickly given their success together.
