I actually thought he's shown more signs this year than last year. last year he seemed very flat going into the masters but this year he was going well at pebble beach and riveria early on before blowing up completely.
he probably won't win the masters, the odds suggest he won't, but after the last round last year I was convinced that he was the guy to back around the place and I haven't seen anything to change my mind since. |
By:
Know what you mean, a year ago he just couldn't putt at all so wasn't making any birdies, this year he seems to be making more birdies but also making many more mistakes (often big ones) in the long game to balance things out so he's kind of better and kind of worse at the same time.

For someone who has won jack on the PGA Kang certainly gets backed in a lot. Course must be playing easy even Jordan having a field day
|

Definitely seems a lot easier for the afternoon guys.

fullback • April 3, 2019 8:56 PM BST A man wouldn't know and a woman wouldn't tell ya......
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY...... A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing! |
By:
Brain dead shot from Vegas there - some of these guys just will not take their medicine when in the rough
|
By:
Yup, why risk a good round?
|
By:
This course is DULL!
Boring. Commentary not helping! |
By:
fk knows TB. Jedi not a hit with the fans or players
|
By:
On KH Lee here and if the guy could putt he could be clear in the lead, frustrating.
|
By:
Stroud just done the same ...MUG
|
By:
So up and down, straight, nothing too interesting at all.
Not one for much involvement for me. he says ![]() |

Layers have been wary of Spieth during this torrid run with an eye to the Masters. Will win back a lot of love with a decent showing here leading into Augusta and obviously with a good showing at Augusta. If however, he capitulates here and doesn't show up next week, think his price in future events goes over the cliff completely and likely well into 3 figure range at Bethpage and beyond.

If you think this is the worst course on tour you obviously missed Trinity Forest last year, it's awful. This is a strange one, there are 4 par 5s, a couple of 4s that can be made driveable and a ton of vegetation that can cause big trouble, so it's all there for exciting golf but it never seems to produce any.
|
By:
Watching the early coverage, these greens look rock hard at 7am so could be a tough day, especially with a bit of PM breeze as well, so at least the conditions could keep it interesting.
|
By:
Forgot about Trinity, which is pretty easy to do...
And yes, good luck to the late starters looking at these greens. |
By:
awful first putt Jordan
|
By:
At least there's always one thing Jordan can rely on.
|
By:
Vintage Spieth
|
By:
5 bad shots in his first 2 holes, level par pretty good going.
|
By:
another poorly played hole
|
By:
Early days but the form he's been on Jonny V would be worthy of the final place at Augusta. Jordan 8 bad ones in 3 holes.
|
By:
Looks completely lost, no confidence whatsoever.
|
By:
Every damn time.
|
By:
Yeah nice D TB.
|
By:
Haotong left a couple out there already.
|
By:
This is a classic "how on earth's he under par?" round.
|
By:
Keegan gets all the plaudits but Ben An has to be up there with the worst putters around.

R1 leaders don't fare particularly well. A total of 11 players have had a piece of the 18-hole lead at the Oaks Course and only two have gone on to finish better than T10.
ON THE ROAD to victory at TPC San Antonio in... 2018 Andrew Landry – R1: 7th, R2: 3rd, R3: 1st 2017 Kevin Chappell – R1: 19th, R2: 3rd, R3: 1st 2016 Charley Hoffman – R1: 3rd, R2: 2nd, R3: 3rd 2015 Jimmy Walker – R1: 6th, R2: 1st, R3: 1st 2014 Steven Bowditch – R1: 4th, R2: 1st, R3: 1st Rather like at Augusta National, the winner can usually be spotted early here. 6-of-the-last-8 Winners (over the Oaks Course) were in the T8 after 18 holes, while every champion since it was first used in 2010 has been in the T25 after the opening lap. |

A VERY ‘VALERO’ VELCOME to the TEXAS OPEN (VTO) - The 4th most difficult non-major course on TOUR in 2012 and the hardest par 72 on TOUR in 2011. BIG hitters have the edge, as there is a big advantage to distance off the tee, and the other theme this week is WIND.
The third-longest running non major event on TOUR that first began back in 1922..... behind only the BMW Championship (1899) & Canadian Open (1904)..... where since ‘22 there have only been 9 non US winners. So dig out those Lucchese boots once again, as we remember the Alamo and Waco, and leave all those Honky Tonks to 1000/1 shots Robert Allenby et al, as we spend this next week in a Lone Star State (of mind). The winner this week by the way receives a VTO logo pair of those Lucchese cowboy boots. Meanwhile back at the ranch.....let's get on with Round 2 TV coverage..... and check TRICKY RICKIE's boot size ![]() |
By:
Rickie really ballsing up the end of his rd - I hope Lewisham is behind the sofa

By:
Yes just being Ricky tbh...

Si Woo getting up and down from everywhere.
|
By:
I love how the pros can just brush off the mistakes though - fine birdie to get one back. Sabba on the other hand is still fuming at all the ones he left on the edge
|
By:
Oh my.
|
By:
Si Woo Kim ace!!
|
By:
What a shot..lovely.
Could lead by 5.6 at end. |
