In 1985 Curtis Strange shot 80 in the first round. As he turned for home on Sunday he led by four shots with just nine to go. He didn't win.

UPDATED:
Each of the previous 13 Masters winners were inside the T10 after the Rd1 while 77% of Masters Champions (all-time) were inside T10 after round one.
Only ONE of the last 20 Winners was outside the T15 after the first round: An exceptional player, who else but Tiger Woods in 2005 (tied for 33rd).
