he has a much better chance than maybe 10 other in the field, thinking anything different doesnt make any sense

Maybe laying what you considered free money is why you don't have a spare hundred large in your account seaside. No such thing as free money unless you find it in the street.
Report seaside April 3, 2018 1:55 PM BST
puggy

Funny I did find money at Xmass in the street a person in front of me dropped his wallet.

I picked it  up and gave it back to him he said thank you theres a lot of money in their.

No reward but I keep a good karma.

he must have a price where you would back him, thats the skill of golf betting.

its a very tough year to price up with so many looking to have a decent shot at it.

i do think hes underpriced at the moment, but where does it become value?

somewhere around 22-25/1 ?
Report seaside April 3, 2018 2:06 PM BST
The one good thing about backing him is that you will get to see him on the box a lot.

His price is fair at the moment.

My biggest concern would be his putting - don't recall him putting well yet this year that said baring the players T30 he has come in the top 20 in every event so not playing badly.

Tiger performed well in the last two majors last year led the open on the back nine and came second at the PGA and I would expect him to be well prepared. Experience is a big factor at Augusta. It is probably the easiest of the four majors due to the smaller field size and a portion of them having no chance.

I would expect Tiger to be in the top ten whether he can get into the mix will depend on how well he putts.
Report lockup April 4, 2019 11:36 AM BST
after his performance in the WGC matchplay seems like a good bet e.w to me none of the favs with maybe the exception of Rory are setting the world on fire.
Report lewisham ranger April 4, 2019 1:46 PM BST
wouldn't it be the most amazing story if woods were to win his 15th major at augusta.

I notice there was a lot more hype about him last year playing in the masters but his warm-up this time around has been much more solid. so to some extent he's going under the radar.

The Masters has never been Tiger’s first win of the calendar year, and he doesn’t have a stroke-play finish better than T10 in 2019.

Excellent start for Woods  - birdies the 2nd (lighting fast putt) to go -1.

Report Catch Me ifyoucan April 12, 2019 1:28 AM BST
Tiger has won three of his green jackets after an opening round 70. That 70 ties his second-lowest opening round. In the first three of his four wins here, Woods began with that opening salvo. All told, in his previous five Masters in which he started two under, he has never finished worse than T-6.

One American gambler who bet £65,000 on Tiger Woods to win the Masters collected William Hill’s largest ever golf payout Sunday after the American secured an famous success.

Placed at odds of 14-1, the unidentified punter was the recipient of just under £1 million following Woods’ first major triumph since 2008.

“It’s great to see Tiger back," said Nick Bogdanovich, director of trading at the U.S. office of William Hill. "It’s a painful day for William Hill — our biggest golf loss ever — but a great day for golf."

Before the Augusta tournament had begun, Bogdanovich revealed the wager was so large he had to clear it with his bosses.

“When we were approached with this bet, it was above my pay grade, so I had to go to my boss,” he told Action Network.

“Because we have such a large Masters pool this year, we decided to take it.”

Ominously, Bogdanovich also remarked: “If Tiger wins we will obviously get toasted.”
Report detraveller April 16, 2019 12:21 AM BST
There was an article on ESPN mocking a person who layed Tiger to win all four majors at odds of 1000. he staked 20k for a return of 20 dollars.

Is there any explanation for a bet like this? or is the person plain stupid, considering you could get a much better and safer return over six months at many places elsewhere.
