There was a good course in the west of Ireland that had a Japanese four ball that was probably a 12 ball, with everyone congratulating the boss on every shot.
The locals could play 18 holes in three hours.  The Japanese took about three days.

Fred gone 11-4 on Justin Rose for a top ten finish. Seems a great bet to me. As low as 7-4 elsewhere

Everything points to Serge for me. Has the right form line, wonderful links player, right age. Also like Matsy and Oosty.

You not worried that he hasn't played that much since the Masters rhino, and maybe spent a bit too much time enjoying the post Masters elation?

Not worried. 2nd place in Germany a good hit out, and decent performances in other tourneys played in. How do you measure too much time enjoying the post Masters elation?

a nice day to practice on the course today, but the wind will be 180 degrees different
on thursday, and the course will be softer after tomorrows rain.

fridays wind now looking less severe and from a new direction, southerly, and dropping
in the afternoon not rising

early late now looking better side of draw, slightly

plenty changes left in forecasts ...

How do you measure too much time enjoying the post Masters elation?

Im not sure you can! Just asking you what you thought... as I always have it down as a potential worry myself. There was plenty of footage on twitter of him jetting all round the world wearing a green jacket and you wonder how much more he might have been playing / practising had he not won.

Willett probably the best example of how it can go wrong.

But if hes been putting the time in for this, there is obviously no doubt he should be in the mix.

Has Rory confirmed that xmoneyx?

Seems odd to me. 4 and 6 would both be definite driver holes id have thought? And probably 11.

Fair enough. I think it may seem like he is on a greatest hits tour with the jacket, but probably only because every time he wears it he is at Wimbledon or a Real Madrid match and the photographers lap it up. Another golfer in civvies just isn't as photo worthy so them doing the same thing isn't news. Am sure he has practised and with the top dogs vulnerable, would have to be aware this is a massive opportunity. He is riding the wave and will want to stay on as long as possible.

I hope he gets in.  If he does he should get a big round of applause on the 1st tee and all around the course.

Of the most recent open winners I think only Rory has the potential to go and win a few of them.

There's been a lot of talk though recently of how we've had all these first time major winners and how that's likely to happen again but I'm not so sure. Surely Rory, Dj, Spieth will win more majors over the next few years.

I wouldn't be surprised if they added to their collection this week. the average age of a royal birkdale winner is 32. Most of the winners have been american. DJ is 33, and world number one and american. 16-1 surely underrates his chance.
