they have a start sheet for practice days
if theres a two or three you can join them, if they dont like you they might not turn up ![]() or you can turn up and go off if theres a break some folk scrub out the vacant slots ![]() seen a few japenese 5 balls down the years too |
By:
There was a good course in the west of Ireland that had a Japanese four ball that was probably a 12 ball, with everyone congratulating the boss on every shot.
The locals could play 18 holes in three hours. The Japanese took about three days. |
By:
Fred gone 11-4 on Justin Rose for a top ten finish. Seems a great bet to me. As low as 7-4 elsewhere
|
By:
Leishman 6/1 with Paddy and Sportsbook seems decent as well.
|
By:
Leishman is a major junkie, always around

soften course up bigtime
|
By:
Bit of a shame really. Nothing like an Open when its fast and firm.
|
By:
Had a look at the scores last time it was here.Pod won on+3 ,2nd place was +7.Pod played the last 6 holes in 4 under. That's the weather we need.I think Poulter went odds on for a short time ,think about it ,Poulter went odds on for a major.I must be wrong.

At the French Open Peter Uihlein, Alexander Björk and Mike Lorenzo-Vera secured their places Birkdale with Kyle Stanley, Charles Howell, Martin Laird and Sunghoon Kang qualifying at the Quicken Loans National in the USofA.
Ian Poulter (qualified from the 3 spots at Woburn) was one of the more notable qualifiers from the 5 UK final qualifier events. Greenbrier Classic Qualifiers were Xander Schauffele, Robert Streb, Jamie Lovemark and Sebastian Munoz with Scotish Open qualifiers: Callum Shinkwin, Matthieu Pavon along with the previously mentioned Andrew Dodt gaining the final few places for The 146th Open at Royal Birkdale. THAT's THE 156 Players ! ALTERNATES... 1. Anirban Lahiri was the first alternate until July 11, when he replaced Scott Piercy, who took his name out of the tournament. 2. Tony Finau replaced 2003 Open champion Ben Curtis on July 12. 3. James Hahn.....James Hahn @JamesHahnPGA "Flying from SFO to Manchester, UK as 1st alternate for the Open Championship. Worth the chance to compete in my favourite major of the year!" 4. Danny Lee 5. Jim Furyk |

Everything points to Serge for me. Has the right form line, wonderful links player, right age. Also like Matsy and Oosty.
|
By:
You not worried that he hasn't played that much since the Masters rhino, and maybe spent a bit too much time enjoying the post Masters elation?
|
By:
Not worried. 2nd place in Germany a good hit out, and decent performances in other tourneys played in. How do you measure too much time enjoying the post Masters elation?
|
By:
Could actually go as far to argue he should be pushing for outright fave.
|
By:
I like sergio,but price a bit skinny 20/1
|
By:
9/1 Sergio top European better value

a nice day to practice on the course today, but the wind will be 180 degrees different
on thursday, and the course will be softer after tomorrows rain. fridays wind now looking less severe and from a new direction, southerly, and dropping in the afternoon not rising early late now looking better side of draw, slightly plenty changes left in forecasts ... great stuff xmoney |
By:
with so many doglegs, Rory isn't using a driver till the 13th hole
|
By:
the limp wristed one won't be using any clubs after 36 holes
|
By:
How do you measure too much time enjoying the post Masters elation?
Im not sure you can! Just asking you what you thought... as I always have it down as a potential worry myself. There was plenty of footage on twitter of him jetting all round the world wearing a green jacket and you wonder how much more he might have been playing / practising had he not won. Willett probably the best example of how it can go wrong. But if hes been putting the time in for this, there is obviously no doubt he should be in the mix. |
By:
Has Rory confirmed that xmoneyx?
Seems odd to me. 4 and 6 would both be definite driver holes id have thought? And probably 11. |
By:
|
By:
Yeah fair point about photo's of the Green Jacket and there is always the Mark O'Meara omens!
|
By:
3. James Hahn.....James Hahn @JamesHahnPGA "Flying from SFO to Manchester, UK as 1st alternate for the Open Championship. Worth the chance to compete in my favourite major of the year!"
I hope he gets in. If he does he should get a big round of applause on the 1st tee and all around the course. |
By:
who do you fancy CCM?
|
By:
coltart said it about rory on skysports open channel
|
By:
My team as follows rhino:
Rose Rahm Fowler Leishman Cabrera Bello Sullivan Sneds Kjeldsen Leishman my main bet. |
By:
Of the most recent open winners I think only Rory has the potential to go and win a few of them.
There's been a lot of talk though recently of how we've had all these first time major winners and how that's likely to happen again but I'm not so sure. Surely Rory, Dj, Spieth will win more majors over the next few years. I wouldn't be surprised if they added to their collection this week. the average age of a royal birkdale winner is 32. Most of the winners have been american. DJ is 33, and world number one and american. 16-1 surely underrates his chance. |
