Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Shane Lowry will share the lead heading into the last day of the sixth Rolex Series event of the season after a dramatic third round at the Turkish Airlines Open. Nicolas Colsaerts held a four-shot overnight lead at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort and extended that to five at the turn before carding a 73 and leaving the door open for the rest of the field.
Irishman Lowry recorded a 65 to get to 14 under with Thailand's Aphibarnrat joining him after a 66 to open up a two-shot lead over Colsaerts and Major Championship winners Padraig Harrington and Justin Rose.

you sort of feel with rose he'll win at least one more major before he's done... too good a player to finish his career with only one major imo. think he's better than people like scott, louis who are a similar age and also on one major.

i remember this year he came very close to winning the masters and wasn't really playing that well coming in to that event.. seems to have found his form again.

ROSE is BACK-to-BACK defending the same event (for the first time in his career) as he returns to World #1 with victory this week. KOEPKA reign was a short week.
Third place in last week's WGC-HSBC Champions in China could so easily have been a win - (johnnythebull • October 28, 2018 12:24 PM.....another one blown by the uber overrated Rose.....in the WGC 4 day end of season hacker's convention) -  BUT he's gone NINE T10's in 11 starts since winning the Fort Worth Invitational last May.
Justin shot 65-65 over the weekend last year so is now 23-under for his last four laps here. He is 5-for-12 with a solo 36-hole lead, but is 5-for-7 more recently !

Seriously brain dead posters like this seriously can't dress themselves of a morning. Crazy.

Aside from the fact Rose is one of the best drivers on tour and can boast v impressive putting stats this season..........lest we forget he is a:
US Open winner, Olympic Champion, 9 x PGA wins (inc. 2 x WGC wins), 12 European Tour wins, World no. 1, one of only 5 golfers ever to win an official tournament on all 6 continents...............

Yet some people have the audacity to slag him off; and probably p1ss their pants when in with a chance of winning the local clubs monthly medal!!
Report jedi sophie November 6, 2018 10:17 PM GMT
In fairness if not for a complete meltdown from LI Rose wouldve spanked away 3 large tourneys in a month from winning positions.

Consistent yes. Steady yes. Ruthless winner and true world number 1? Not in my book I'm afraid.
Hugely fragile under the heat.

He admitted in playoff his plan was to hit 5 wood 5 iron all day. Outlast LI?.

Are you ****g serious? World number 1 playing safe v LI?

Rose attempts a rare THREE-PEAT…
JUSTIN will try to defend his title - going for three CONSECUTIVE wins at the same event - his two wins came at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort - would be just the SEVENTH player to win THREE successive European Tour tournaments – winning the same tournament THREE years in a row. (CAN YOU NAME THE OTHER 6 PLAYERS ???)

Rose “I had never won two consecutive times at the same tournament before, let alone THREE, so that would be incredible.

SOME WANT GRAVY ON THEIR TURKEY.....Devil
This week as many as 15 of the T70 and 5-of-the-T8 found something better to do. Late withdrawals of Andy Sullivan and Mikko Korhonen gave No.87 Adrian Otaegui and No.95 Renato Paratore entry into the field that was supposed to be for the T70 in the RtoD rankings. And next week’s entry at Sun City is little better. Already, the man ranked 72nd on the standings, Alvaro Quiros, is guaranteed a spot in the 60-player starting line-up. A European Tour spokesperson did make the point that this week the field was always going to be made up of the top 70 “available” players.
It's hard to be too critical of some of those not taking up their places - Billy Horschel, Paul Casey and Tony Finau are hardly European Tour regulars. And Beef Johnston’s imminent fatherhood means he has other priorities.
'Dustin the Tukey' Rose is defending his Turkish title...but even he needed 'a financial nudge' to take part (according to sources)... His management company originally asked for the same appearance fee he received to play last year. Only when the tournament played hard ball did they agree to accept a lesser figure. The remainder then went to Molinari with the current OPEN Champ, Shane Lowry commendably teeing up for free - Next week, Lowry will be sunning himself in Dubai rather than playing at Sun City.

JUNE 2017 - Matthias Schwab has signed with International Sports Management (ISM) and will make his first professional appearance on home soil at this week’s Lyoness Open in Austria. The 22-year-old concluded a stellar amateur career with Vanderbilt University last month, finishing third in the NCAA DI Men’s National Championship for the second consecutive year and helping his college to the NCAA Match-Play semi-finals. A two-time All-American and named All-SEC First Team for a third straight season, Matthias clinched the Palmer Cup for Europe last summer and played at this year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard.

Matthias makes his professional debut at the Lyoness Open, a tournament where he finished in a share of 14th as an 18-year-old four years ago. He said: “I’ve enjoyed my time at Vanderbilt and I would like to thank everyone there for all of their help over the last few years. “I’m proud of my progress as an amateur but now I feel ready to make this next step and I’m excited to be playing as a professional in Austria for the first time. “I’m happy to trust ISM to help me and I look forward to working with them.”
ISM is a global management company and has helped shape the careers of major winners Danny Willett, Darren Clarke and Louis Oosthuizen, as well as former world number one Lee Westwood.
CEO Chubby Chandler said: “Matthias’ achievements as an amateur are there for all to see and he’s obviously a player of real quality. “We’re hoping he continues to follow in the footsteps of players like Justin Thomas and Patrick Rodgers and we’re delighted to be working with him.” Nick Mullen, ISM Director Global Golf and Consulting, said: “We’ve been following Matthias’ progress for a long time. We’re so pleased he’s decided to join us and we can’t wait to watch him fulfil his potential over the years ahead.”
