Crans-sur-Sierre and the European Masters is one of the few Pro Golf events to have remained at the same venue for such a long period of time - The Masters and the 58th staging (since '59) of the UBS Hong Kong Open at Fanling can only compare.

The list of former champions also shows that players aren’t just here to look at the stunning views.....Seve won at Crans three times, Nick Price, Ian Woosnam, Nick Faldo, Craig Stadler, Jose Maria Olazabal, Colin Montgomerie, Lee Westwood, Ernie Els, Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia have all had their name engraved on the trophy while the last two winners aren’t bad either – 2016 Masters winner Danny Willett and, last year, current World #11 Alex Noren. Miguel Angel Jimenez loves it so much he’ll be playing in the event for the 28th time this week! He’s also a former champ having taken the title in 2010.
Report Catch Me ifyoucan September 5, 2017 1:52 PM BST
A special mention also for the Ryder Cup skipper - 150/1 shot THOMAS BJORN - your 2011 & 2013 winner !  The top-class chipper was also runner-up here in 1999 and 2000 and has a T15 in the recent Scottish Open to suggests he can still focus on his own golf game.
Report Catch Me ifyoucan September 5, 2017 1:59 PM BST
KIWI Ryan Fox will be used to the altitude although he’s making his tournament debut. The 45/1 New Zealander's made two previous trips to the Alps and finished second (2016) and third (2015) in the Challenge Tour’s Rolex Trophy. Everything went like clockwork in July as he reeled off a trio of T6's in the French, Irish and Scottish Opens so let's hope he masters this Alpine venue with the same precise timing.

Watching Rory's  acceptance speech Sunday night, he intimated that Switzerland was a chance for him and his wife to chill as he was very tired. Tough work bringing 15 million plus to the bank in a wheelbarrow. So I am taking the opportunity to lay him this week. Also a little on Willett and Wallace . Prepared to lay off at any stage for green , hopefully. Hard luck last weekend Ashleigh.#

MATTY, is looking for his sixth career European Tour win. Fitz, age 24, could become the youngest player to win six times on the European Tour since Woods in 1999, and the youngest European player to get to those six wins since Jose Maria Olazabal in 1989.
