very surprised to see h stenson playing with his dodgy knee and an operation imminent, last weeks winner c schwartzel seemed to win by default and will have to drive better here. so going for players with some course form and playing well lately. d willett t jaidee e/w k aphibarnrat e/w
frittelli shamed himself and if he had played where it laid he probably wouldn't have done any worse and may have got lucky and scored better. bet he wished he'd just played fair now. thankfully he followed it up with another bogey, with any luck hell shoot an 80+ and think to himself i got what i deserved for cheating and i won't do it again!!!

Sergio Garcia (-10) 4/6 Louis Oosthuizen (-8) 7/2 Lee Westwood (-7) 10 Thomas Detry (-7) 12 Mikko Korhonen (-7) 18 Ross Fisher (-6) 25 Darren Fichardt (-4) 200
Olde Rossy Fisher would have been a few clear if he hadnt had that meltdown in round 2 on 1 of the holes typical Ross did any of you see it? was a dead tree infront of him if he could have got a few people to move it he would have had a clear shot! about 30 mins later Matt Wallace was in the same position and got the tree moved! If Ross had a ounce more bottle and a brain he would be dangerous

Wonderful to see Garcia go all out for the win... 4,5 shot lead on a few occasions. A major due to the now world number 1 choking away the Masters but what a dog... At least Louis having a go.

Hard to fathom Garcia strategy. His brother on the bag happy with a cheque,no suggestion from him to grow a pair. Radar actually embarrassed on 9.215 yds and lays up?

in truth westoods been playing ok for a while without putting it al together.realistically he's never been as good a putter as other top players but for people to just say he cant putt with about 400 tourney wins under his belt and "he's a bottler" was always nonsense.shame hes putting was never quite as good as his long game or he'd have pocketed several huge wins.who knows he may do a mark omega and have his biggest wins late in his career.

Favourites who can't master this course: Cheeseburger, Hatton, RCB, Poulter, Lewis.....
Fav's who can: Louis, Henrik, Noren, Westwood".
Miller - "I'll make the Nedbank easier for you. Favourites who can't master this course: Cheeseburger, Hatton, RCB, Poulter, Lewis..... Fav's who can: Louis, Henrik, Noren, Westwood".
Steve Palmer's Racing Post only tip this week is King Louis (Oosthuizen) 9/1 fav, leads by three from Detry after a bogey-free nine-under-par 63 in Rd1 - the man to beat, his lowest opening round worldwide since last December's South African Open, which he went on to win. Louis also leads the field in both strokes gained approach & strokes gained putting - "he has nobody to fear in this line-up and is the most appealing favourite of the year".
Steve The Punter on the other hand says LOUIS-A-LAY! - "since 1996, we've seen 14 men hold a clear lead in this event after the opening round and only four of them (28.6%) went on to win, and on the European Tour over the same time period, 36 players have held a three-stroke advantage and only nine (25%) have gone on to win."
A timely reminder that Oosthuizen looked the likely winner for 68 holes last year, BUT Westwood had other ideas covering his final eight holes in five-under-par, and piling on the pressure on Louis, who was left with too much to do after bogeying the par-four 15th. Oosthuizen carded eight Sunday birdies in a generally magnificent closing round, was left stunned by the gear that Westwood found (for his third title) and the gutted local hero made a double bogey at the 18th once his winning chance had gone... Monty led by three on three different occasions, and failed each time - 72 holes is a long time...... but REVENGE IS SWEET!

One of the great breaks there and converts. Approach could easily have gone off the back to primary rough and the movement on the greens that a tough up and down. Makes birdie cos of a sprinkler. When it's your week...
