Looking at a very safe book. Just traded to leave a green on Shwartzel of €28. Significant lead for an experienced golfer and would not back against him at this stage. A look at him over the first 5 off the tee will suffice to make a final call if all is well at that stage.I think Smad Place for Alan King may be a solid place only bet at 3.00 in Newbury this afternoon. An open looking affair and he has had a handy recent reintroduction to racing and there will be plenty of horses not completing this afternoon as things are quite soft and testing. Maybe 7/1 or better.

Schwartzel is only 3 shots ahead - I'll settle for that. I was expecting it to be all over.
I was watching the odds and to my horror it looked like he'd birdied the last hole. Then they jumped up again, so I'm guessing he came close to being 4 ahead???

Anybody got a weather forecast for the golf course today. Wish I was there. Bloody howling gale here in Ireland. Would not care to be teeing off at the Lahinch or Ballybunion courses this morning. A morning for drinking tea and playng snooker at the 19th and watching the Dunhill. I'm busy looking through today's horses but fear some meeting may be postponed because of the current blow with heavy rain.

Need to back some on Schwartzel but definitely not going punting @ 1.42. My position is strong, just need to balance things and am not a huge fan of losing a portion when cashing out. But it is a handy weapon if you need to work quickly.

I have taken a profit of €162 so now I am supporting anybody in a tough position. Still think the leader will win but happy to be out of both tournaments with an extra €200 in the bank.

Leopard Creek Country Club is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular European Tour destinations. Flanked by the aptly named Crocodile River, sightings of these formidable reptiles, along with hippos, antelopes, buffalos and elephants, are commonplace on the course or in the bordering Kruger Park. The tournament has a history of producing debut winners while defending champion Charl Schwartzel 7/2 will be looking to join a very exclusive club of players who have won the same official European Tour event on five or more occasions. Schwartzel will be joined by Branden Grace - South Africa’s highest ranked player on the Official World Golf Ranking - and compatriots Joburg Open winner Haydn Porteous 200/1 and BMW SA Open winner Brandon Stone 28/1.

Yes I was tempted to back him before the event just the 3-1 put me off. A friend of mine thinks he's totally overrated because of that one masters win, but you know he obviously has a great record on this track.

Like recent winners Jordan Spieth & Cody Gribble this year, BRANDON STONE is a University of Texas alum - “Texas Longhorns”. 23yo STONE played at Texas in 2013 and earned three medalist honours in his freshman season and was named to the All-America First Team. http://www.texassports.com/sports/2016/1/15/MGOLF_0115164418.aspx?path=mgolf

I'll go for Grace @ 8/1. Louis can't see the ball through his tears. Crying all week after his win. Schwartzel can't play Saturday or Sunday. Wallace is good in patches but Bjorn sussed him well......despite the SKY lads pumping him ( Brits) Fritelli......akward looking but effective and a good putter......having a small saver on him as well as Stone.
GRACE is the man. Get on and double him with Molly the Dolly.

OWGR #77 FRITTELLI 4-under-thru-12 is just the kind of start he wants - 'keep her lit'
OWGR #49 GRACE, NORRIS #74 & SCHWARTZEL #75 have the OWGR Top 50 in their heads - Invite to Augusta, etc, to play for.

Pablo has played 7 holes and made about 1 decent swing in those 7 holes.Be amazed if he's able to reset and go on to win from here.Looks like he doesn't have a clue where his ball is going every time he takes a swing.
