Based on the way sponsors quickly scattered from the 14-time major champion at the first sign of any activity they felt might damage their brand, one would have to believe that Mickelson is very much in danger of losing several big-time sponsorship deals, particularly with brands such as KPMG and Barclays.

barclays......the squeaky clean bank , lol
|
By:
David Toms likes it here.
|

In fairness to Phil there have been no charges or specific accusations. If he has been up to no good then losing a few sponsors is the least of his worries.
|
By:
Just a heads up that Kuchar is playing this week even though he is not currently quoted in the betting.
|
By:
yeh ok to phil stuff but his form is wack , why am i always right and everyone else wrong, or is it the professionals and bookies are miles worse than me so we all getr some of there money :() i do find it impossible to back Phil, arthritus, age, bad back , swing issues, incredibly bad putting stats, and now the pressure that comes with it....
|
By:
Kuchar playing :) , spare a thought for the people that backed Phil in lol
|
By:
Kuchar not played here since 2007 !!
|
By:
Dustin Johnson 16's 6 places.......CHAAAAAAAAAAAARGE !
|
By:
|
By:
|
By:
start with freddie jacobson @ 60,playing ok,used to like course.
|
By:
little win and top ten - harrington - last few years he's had a little success this time of year @ 210 seems big with him tenth in this last year.
|
By:
ALSO like
Billy Horschel 50's, Patrick Reed 50, Camilo Villegas 100, Brian Harman 100, Scott Stallings 125, Sang-Moon Bae 150 & Justin Hicks 150. LAST YEAR 6 players shared the 1st round lead with 66's incl Harris English who easily lead from start to finish with -12. Mickelson was 8 behind after round 2 and only failed by 2 shots to finish T2 with Stallings at -10. |
By:
POD is only 80's with PP who go 6 places (should be 150 - is 200+ on here - would be on otherwise).
Maybe Dustin (or Hicks) leads from start to finish this year ! |
By:
fek me this is hard,43 of the players have top tenned at some point or another,i may end up backing the fooking field!!!
|
By:
like the reed call there catch me,few weeks off chill, well a bit with his new bairn? (?)
maybe with the tag of worlds most hated for being a little over boastful while he's buzzing off a win lol! not that i like/dislike him but just gotta love pulic reaction :) |

There may be something to the correlation between Riviera (Northern Trust Open) and this week's TPC Southwind, hence Dustin (2nd) and Harmon (T3), if one subscribes to that thought from some 'experts' in the golfing world.
http://www.tpc.com/southwind/home TPC Southwind’s par-70, 7,244-yard championship layout was designed by noted architect Ron Prichard, with PGA TOUR players Hubert Green and Fuzzy Zoeller serving as consultants. It underwent a major reconstruction in 2004 which has made it significantly more difficult. The golf course has long been rated one of the more challenging courses on the PGA Tour schedule and has played host to this event since 1989. The golf course features undulating zoysia fairways, champion Bermuda greens and numerous lakes, streams and ponds. Adding to the charm of the golf course are two grain silos and a windmill, remnants of the dairy farm once located on the site. This is a long course for a par 70. In January 2012, TPC Southwind was ranked No. 23 in Golf World magazine’s Exclusive PGA Tour Course Rankings and the most difficult of the 13 Par 70s used in non-majors in that year. Among the most notable holes at TPC Southwind are the 165-yard, par-3, 11th hole, considered by some to be a smaller version of the famous 17th Island Green at TPC Sawgrass, forcing a short iron over water to a small island green; the 231-yard, par-3 14th – consistently ranked one of the toughest par-3 holes on the PGA TOUR – which requires a long iron or wood tee to a narrow green protected by water along the entire right side of the undulating green; and the course’s spectacular 461-yard, par-4 finishing hole, requiring a tee shot played alongside a water hazard that protects the entire left side of the fairway. A WORD OF CAUTION.....Expect late withdrawals tomorrow. This has been the last stop on the PGA Tour before the US Open since the Fedex Cup was introduced in 2007 and as a result the field can vary from year to year, with numerous withdrawals in the run up to the event also now commonplace given that the US Open Final Qualifying stage takes place TODAY. This maybe the case this year again with players qualifying for Pinehurst No.2. and deciding their schedule is just too much before a MAJOR. Players ranked just outside the Top 60 in the OWGR Chesson Hadley 66h, Charles Howell III - add PP at 50's 6 places 68th, J B Holmes 70th, Boo Weekley 71st & Thorbjorn Olesen 74th know that that a big performance this week can book their US Open ticket. |
By:
nope i tried but theres far too many players who u could easily make a case for in this.
had already gone in small on jacobson/harrington and reed - if i'd have read a bit more harrington would prob be my only keep outa them, not to say others cant just decided to go for a couple bigger in price. my team - harrington - lingmerth and old charlie wi - all small win bigger top ten just punting on theyve shown a glimmer of form in recent weeks and have a few pointers to say they can play the type of course. thats it for me on the pga or untill last day anyway. |
By:
Kuchar withdrawn
|
By:
Two others quoted on here, but no longer on the pga tour field list are Justin Hicks and Seung-Yul Noh.
|
By:
fek i have a feeling i'm falling into old habits here lol - but i cant refuse the prices on people who have mutiple top tens in this event!
B.Gay@ 260 - loveIII@ 600! - slocum and austin @ 800-900 ish obv mainly top ten with a tiny win |
By:
Yup i've come to my senses , & with Kuchar out, plus Phil could muster somthing and lead after round 1 and i'd crap myself .
My picks are Reed, English, Senden Garrigus & outside bet Villegas. |
By:
sh@t i forgot to put up S verplank @ 1000 (two top tens) - i'm on!!
![]() |
By:
lol please someone give me a good reason not to lump on loveIII for top 10 AND top 20 - no recent form is not enuff as the last few years have been simalar but has come up with a few decent ones around this time. were prob talking about 45-50/1 top ten and 20-25/1 t20!!
tyvm for your help. |
By:
well sod ya then!! i'll just have to lump on and win copious amounts of cash instead
![]() |
By:
sry if i waffle alot, had a carp day and will tilt into some really stupid bets if i dont occupy myself, done a bag in today that'll do tyvm!
anyway was just browseing came accross a tipster fancying M thompson and imo had some good points, dont think ure allowed to copy paste n that on here are you?? so i'll give u the notes on wat he said. course set up perfect for his fade incentive inn that he's been playing well and with a win qalifies for next week best form thruout full career are always technical Par 70 courses which obv this is for last year been working on changes in his entire game, seeing results now -now standard 300+ yards (needed last 4 winners all 290+ avg) - GIR from 150s to 52nd - strokes gained putting from 123 to 13th! put it together n he's gotta have a sniff! again not my study practicly copied. |
By:
Short and sweet this week. Good luck everyone

By:
Charley Hoffman out now too. Can't remember who said it earlier in this thread, but someone called the high number of withdrawals.
|
By:
market currently at 103.3%...........this is a backers dream , just wish I knew who to back
|
By:
The forecast for this is one of the worst I've seen for a golf tournament, storms forecast every day between Thursday and Monday with a warning for severe storms on Friday. Gotta admit if I was in the US Open the week after I'd be seriously thinking about WDing rather than a weekend of sitting around.
|
By:
So soft fairways for the bombers and a chance of a 54 hole event = DJ.
|
By:
TB
Does the forcast give any advantage to Early / Late or Late / Early tee times? |
By:
Impossible to say, the forecast is for thunder each day so no way of knowing if or when each wave will actually be on course. The advantage is to anyone heading straight to Pinehurst.
|
By:
dustin loves the bad weather tournies...is he still playing i have been in hospital again and havnt checked anything
|
By:
Cheers TB. Might try a big hitter out early. Garrigus.....

Best bet for me this week Luke Guthrie 80/1 EW. Tends to come into form for a few weeks then fall into obscurity. In which case he might be worth following in his next few tournaments after a T8 in a strong event last week.
1st Round Leaders: Flores 50/1 Streb 80/1 Svoboda 125/1 Stefani 66/1 All EW |
