hi is sickoalbionracing@hotmail.co.uk . my pals have also suggested phaphos or belek id be happy if you could quote us for all three destinations and would be interested i your opinions as to which is best. like all these things when u have 16 involved there are varied budgets to consider. thanks

By:
oh bythe way we ont need insurance or flights, but we will need airport transfers and tranfers from hotel to courses and back ty

for what it's worth mate my opinion is that belek currently offers the best value golf breaks in europe.
cornelia diamond resort, highly reccomended. pedror; was looking to book some golf oct time , cortesin, sotogrande, and san roque old. noticed prices have rocketed compared to last year. in your opinion do you reckon they'll stay that high, or any chance of them coming to their senses? |
By:
my group are of such varied ability golf wise(less varied abilty to get drunk , were all good at that) so the nightlife is important to most of them.
|
By:
the only downside re belek is the lack of nightlife. the hotels have loads of bars ,restaurants and such, with plenty of entertainment, but if you want lively bars/clubs etc then it aint the place. we've been a couple of times and stayed 4 nights, which was just about right.

having said that the all inclusive packages were top notch, great food, and all good [top labels] booze.
|

thanks mex, nightlife is more important than the golf for most of our lads, last year in benidorm we had 5 nights of not getting in before 6a.m sometimes later with only or 3 hours before tee off.i played one of the courses with 90 mins kip and score 13pts stapeford , later in the week after a booze free night(the only one) i scored 38pts on same course

MEX
You have picked some of our favourite courses to play but they are amongst the most expensive in the region. We do have discounted rates at all those courses so let me have your email address and I will get you a quote.I cant see the courses reducing their rates unless you are prepared to play either late in the day or very early. However I know you might think I am biased but I would suggest that you book the golf ASAP the reason being that the exchange rate has dropped from over 1.20 to 1.15 and I cant see it getting any lower then that. If you pay a deposit for the golf then you would benefit from any exchange rises and the concensus of opinion is that it will rise again by the Autumn. |

sickoflayinwimmers;
yep, i get the message.a few years ago i came out of a club in peurto banus about 5.30 having to be on the tee at torrequabtada [about an hours drive away] at 10.30 [we were playing it on the way home] i had 16 points after 9 holes and ended up with 17. just hit the wall. we don't normally book golf before 1.30. i would say that turkey is probably not the place for you as the hotels tend to be a bit like flypapers. pedror thanks for that; they are our three fav courses down that end [apart from the more money than sense establishment of course].when i told our group what the prices were it sort of threw the whole thing up in the air and now we're thinking of going somewhere else, and of course we've got half a dozen differn't ideas. to be perfectly honest it's not really a money issue, but the general thought is "we're sick of them taking the mick" over the prices. someone said they've put a 20% tax hike on all the rates is that corrsct? |
By:
mexicano, the IVA (VAT) on greenfees were raised from 8 % to 21 % some time last fall, effectivly increasing prices for customers 12 %, unless the courses choose to take some of the price hike on their side.
|
By:
I also know you have played a lot of golf in that area, so you have probably played La Canada, but I'll still recommend it.
A decent golf course, usually in good conditions. Not as good as the 3 you mention of course, but the price is roughly a third of those 3, so worth playing if price is an issue. |
By:
price is a main concern as we have 2 or 3 pretty hopeless players who are really only coming for the sun sand etc etc,to be honest one of the courses in benidorm was like a plouhed field and that was the greens , we actually refused to carry on aftr all 4 groups were out vthere and the guy who arrange the whole shebang got us refunds or another round the dayater to the choice of each player.onegame om an erasy course for the worst players always helps as if the courses are toodemanding they just get peed off.weve got probably average h,caps of 18 , for of us below and most at about that mark with a couple of 24s and 2 totalaly clueless(but to be faie as soon as they cant score theypick up)
