Works fine on a iPad in the same room as laptop, using safari, but is useless on the laptop using google chrome, would the browser make any difference ? Why would the iPad work fine ?

I had a similar problem a while back, I couldn't run more than one device at a time. Turned out it was a faulty router.
Try switching everything else off thats connected to the wireless and running the laptop. Also does it work ok when connected with a cat5 cable direct to the router?

tks for the reply....i use a wireless router.....from a mobile dongle thing, it has 5 bars so the signal appears strong...just using the one device at a time......roll on bbc i guess
try putting pic quality on auto this helps reducing the buffering all tho pic sharpness takes a second or 2 to re-figure
