Hello from Florida, where I'm just kind of relaxing and winding down. It's about to get busier with school getting ready to start for the kids soon.

It was nice to finally play in some tournaments and test out my left leg. Although I didn't play as well as I wanted to, I hit more solid shots than people might think and more importantly, I had no problems with my knee and Achilles tendon. Right now I'm healthy.

At the PGA Championship, when I trusted my game and swing, it was there. When I didn't, I fell back into my old patterns. I just need more reps.

I'm used to seeing the ball curve a lot, but now I'm hitting the ball much straighter and it's hard to trust that. Most of the tee shots I missed at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and PGA were straight balls into the left trees, bunkers or rough. I couldn't cut the ball. I'm just not comfortable yet aiming straight and it's a whole new sight line for me.

I'll keep working on my game, but my coach, Sean Foley, is pretty busy at the moment. His second child is due very soon, so he's home taking care of his family.

I did want thank my good friend Bryon Bell for caddying for me in both events. He did a great job. He knows my game and he knows me. Unfortunately, I was pretty rusty and didn't have enough reps to contend in either tournament.

I haven't decided on a new caddie yet, but am definitely thinking about it a lot. There's a few guys I'm looking at, but it all depends on timing. At this point, I'm in no hurry to make a decision.

What am I looking for? Two things: A person with a lot of experience, and a person I'll have fun with.

You might have noticed I wore new shoes at Bridgestone and the PGA called Nike "Free-Inspired" prototype golf shoes made by Nike Golf. It's the first time I haven't worn metal spikes and the shoes were so much more comfortable on my feet. They allow me freedom of movement, enable me to release the power in my swing, and are definitely here to stay.

Tobie Hatfield of Nike's Innovation Kitchen and I came up with the idea a while ago and we are continuing to refine the technology and aesthetics. I wear FREE sneakers all the time for training and lifting, and just asked him if they were suitable for golf. He said absolutely and we've been running with the idea ever since.

This is a big step -- no pun intended -- in the right direction. These shoes can help a lot of people like me. They're so comfortable, I practically live in them.

On Aug. 31, I'll play in the Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge in Verona, N.J. Notah is like a brother to me and has done so much for the Native American community trying to help with child obesity. People have no idea how much time and energy he has put into this cause. It's a pretty big deal for him. The last time I played in the event was in 2009, so I'm really looking forward to helping him out.

After that, I have trips to Asia and Australia, and hopefully I'll get picked for the Presidents Cup team. I've had some conversations with U.S. captain Fred Couples and we'll see how it goes. Of course I want to be on the team. It's always fun to play for your country and we did pretty well two years ago in San Francisco. I'm just going to keep practicing and try to get better. It's Freddie's call and he can make any choice he wants.

I might add another PGA TOUR event to my schedule. Right now, I'm looking at my options.

That's it for now. In case you didn't know, the Stanford football team is ranked No. 7 in the country. My freshman year -- 1995 -- I had a class with David Shaw called "Portuguese Studies." He is now the head football head coach. Good luck David and Go Cardinal!

I think the Nike golf shoe rep wrote the lot.

One of the biggest piles of shy te i've ever read. Sean letting the phone ring out is he??. Its only Tiger Woods on the other end. Wonder if they'll part company soon, i'd say its for the best too. The part about aiming straight...nope, don't buy that either.
As for this horror: This is a big step -- no pun intended -- in the right direction. These shoes can help a lot of people like me. They're so comfortable, I practically live in themCry
