Darts ,price this up without looking at the market.
Colin Monk to win a leg against Phil ,not a set just a leg.Best of 5 sets .I was a country mile out but I`m sure some of our odds compilers on here will do better.

Report Hearts.no1 December 18, 2009 3:14 PM GMT

Report frames December 18, 2009 3:21 PM GMT
I thought about 1/7 , this Monk chap is a pro I believe.
Report Eddie the eagle December 18, 2009 3:22 PM GMT
frames , is that you jumping ahead of my money @ 1.41 ?
Report frames December 18, 2009 3:24 PM GMT
Not me Eddie ,did you take the 1.41/43 ?
Report Hearts.no1 December 18, 2009 3:25 PM GMT
when do they take to the "oche"?
Report Eddie the eagle December 18, 2009 3:27 PM GMT

It seems wrong, but not massively so. He'll likely only throw first four times and if Taylor's on song he won't lose one on serve.
Report Eddie the eagle December 18, 2009 3:34 PM GMT
Isn't Taylor usually a slow starter in these early round matches ?
Report frames December 18, 2009 3:35 PM GMT
It says 21-50 on the rules.
Taylor used to give the throw away , not sure if he still does but that would give Monk 5 chances throwing first.
Report Lori December 18, 2009 3:41 PM GMT
I thought he only gave it away in bigger matches. Willing to be wrong about that.

Either way at 1.43 or so it was a good find, I'd just dispute the magnitude of it.

I don't have him down as a slow starter personally, but that doesn't mean I'm right about that either. His recent loss to VDV was after he no longer needed to win, he won his other two prelim matches 5-0
Report Super Hans December 18, 2009 5:34 PM GMT
Missed it. 1.4 looks even better value than BATE last night.
Report Lucky Sod December 18, 2009 7:01 PM GMT
Monk last played in the WC 2 years ago and he played Denis Ovens in 1st Rd and lost 3-0 without winning a leg and averaged under 70.
Report a bitofinterest December 18, 2009 7:37 PM GMT
all the forum shrewdies on

but is it value..
Report Lori December 18, 2009 9:15 PM GMT
Monk is slaughtered, which might be a factor here.
Report a bitofinterest December 18, 2009 9:26 PM GMT
good job its a raised oche or he'd land flat on his face :^0

wonder who the layer was..
Report frames December 19, 2009 6:11 AM GMT
I read he had two darts at double 16 ,was there anymore throws at double for Monk ?
Report Eddie the eagle December 19, 2009 6:14 AM GMT
I don't think there was. He really was awful , but someone on the darts forum said he was drunk. I couldn't tell from what I could see.
Report frames December 19, 2009 6:25 AM GMT
Fair play to the layers they got it right , the more I thought about it the more I thought it should be an awful lot lower.I saw it shorten slightly ,what was the price on the off Eddie ?
Report Eddie the eagle December 19, 2009 6:32 AM GMT
I think it was around 1.26 - 1.28 at the off. Luckily I laid my stake back at 1.28 , so no loss , but no profit either.
Report Eddie the eagle December 19, 2009 6:34 AM GMT
Monk was either drunk or he is really bad. He had loads of low scores and once threw three 5's !! I didn't think that was possible amongst these guys ?
Report donny osmond December 19, 2009 10:05 AM GMT
prices are often right when they are obviously wrong

stewards called ?
Report B.S December 19, 2009 2:19 PM GMT
I murdered a ton just trying to nick dinner and wine after seeing this thread. I even got someone who knew what price every leg would be to check the maths. I was never going to get too heavily involved in a sport I know little about, but as usual I get stung when I try.
