As THE man ?

Cant see a big rush , particularly as he is likely to become more reclusive than he was before recent events .

Sponsors , particularly in USA are ( properly) pretty straitlaced , so some will quietly withdraw . Negotiations for "appearance " money will be a bit trickier . The golfing public tend to be middle class , and dont approve of non traditional lifestyle / behaviour , bad shots will be greeted with audible vocals in certain jurisdictions ( that gallery at the 16th somewhere , can you imagine that? ) .

Plus the attitude of his fellow pros --Hal Suttons " pulling on his pants same as me" may have more resonance than was obvious at the time --- will query the unassailable Tiger image .

All this counts , anyone clutching ante post vouchers for immediate future will not find the banks willing to lend money with the vouchers as collateral .

Personally I will be seeking out any value available for likely candidates to benefit from Tiger's potential problems . No thought of any malice towards Tiger here , just sadness at how life seems to unravel spectacularly occasionally despite best efforts to right the ship .

Hope he can get things back into some semblance of shape , family wise and golfing wise , golf has built him up and needs him to keep up the gallop, but.......

Although not particularly interested in David Beckham , from memory of that situation I think he survived relatively unscathed because his wife pitched in behind him . Guess Tiger's survival depends now on what direction his wife takes !

Maybe we should have a market on it , there is no golf to bet on Sunday to Wednesday anyway most weeks .

Brilliant article about the Tiger situation in Times Online by Matthew Syed , 9 December 2009 . Hits all the right notes that article in my opinion , Tiger basically having been marketed in a specific manner which he has lately failed to observe .

All is not lost for Tiger , and ultimately he will always have his prodigous talent , but John Daly also has talent , and he is not exactly in golf's top echelon any more . Next year is going to be make or break for Tiger , hope he sorts things out to everyone's satisfaction , but at present it looks uphill for a good while . Wont be carrying any of my money until things settle down .

Agree. It might be admirable in one sense that they don't want to call time on Tiger
but is it a case of misguided loyalty ? They're taking a big chance ....who knows if there aren't more revelations to come out .

Ron Artest has offered Tiger his support, i'm sure Tiger's management will be rapt.

All that's needed now is for OJ Simpson to chime in with his best wishes.
