incredible to think, but Tiger could be odds on with the bookmakers after his first 5 holes in the Australian Masters

an early start from Hole 10
10 481 yards Par 4
11 160 yards Par 3
12 574 yards Par 5
13 354 yards Par 4
14 564 yards Par 5

back now and lay back after 5 holes maybe
what do the forum boys think

I think he will play it safe and suss the course out first round, take oppertunities as they come, a conservative round. the local players will probably go off like scoulded cats...."the day i lead tiger in the oz masters"

i think his first hole being a 481 yarder has the potential to scupper a few trades...

biggest actual stake I ever had on was Tiger in Dubai. Started early, easy run off, I think from the 10th...bound to be shorter within minutes and despite a poorish start (given the nature of the course) was 1.5 from 2.1 within an hour. Same again for all you lovers of a shortie
Report lorrymore1 November 10, 2009 1:54 PM GMT
the great thing about backing tiger in this weak field is unless he has a mare of a 1st round his price will hold so not much up side to laying him unless you are taking him on for the whole event, but i would be suprised if his price will be any bigger than what it is now until he lifts the trophy imo

1.want to back tiger need a big win won 5.6k at hsbc but lost it on the nfl lost 6k on the india auss match
2.tiger said after hes round its to hot. the links course has to much twists and turns that why hes likes playing them
3.when is the last time he won on a links course think he won once when there was no wind

good logic cupra...but beware as the liquidity in running is anyones guess....a large position on woods here, may b a lot harder to trade in running than u may have experienced previously..

i have had my biggest golf bet on tiger this week, win or lose i think the price is crazy . he was 6/4 to see off a world class field last week, he has been shorter than this for majors.

i thought hed be evens
Report Eddie the eagle November 11, 2009 7:07 AM GMT
He was 3.1 on here last week.
Report lorrymore1 November 11, 2009 7:12 AM GMT
i know what price of the 2 are better value,i read an article by 1 of the aussie bookmakers and he said that they dont normally take jack all money first day and every1 seems to want have a bet this year all the money for tiger,1 of his quotes that he come out with that if this field was in the us tiger would be around 1.5 and you have to agree with that
Report ZAPPER November 11, 2009 7:13 AM GMT
yeah that would have been nice, but now we've got evidence.
Report catrap November 11, 2009 7:18 AM GMT
if tiger happened to be -1 after the first 3 holes. what odds would you think he would shorten too?
Report ZAPPER November 11, 2009 7:34 AM GMT
well for me that's hard to say, it depends on who's up there. that said if he starts well there will probably be a get on whatever the price attitude.but don't worrie it'll be short.
Report catrap November 11, 2009 7:41 AM GMT
ive had $2000 on him @ an average of 2.57 gonna try lay it all back at 2.20. hoping that he can get too it early thats if he gets too it.
just hoping he gets a birdie early. watching when hes played in the past if he hits a good drive off the tee he firms 10 cents.
Report Eddie the eagle November 11, 2009 7:50 AM GMT
Will TV coverage be on when he tees off ?
Report ZAPPER November 11, 2009 7:58 AM GMT
blimey catrap thats a bit high for a layoff. wait until he scratches his arse moments be for tee off (he always does it) see what his price is then.you'll be safe over the first few holes.

Woods didn't even try to reach the 294-yard sixth, one of the signature holes at Kingston Heath. Instead, he hit a stinger three-wood and tried to run the ball into the front bunker, missing his target and winding up in the gallery just left of the green.

Why not the driver?

Woods laughed, noting it would be impossible to keep a ball on the greens, which are expected to get even firmer under sunny conditions with temperatures approaching 32 C.

"I'd wind up in the bushes," he said.

Tiger Woods highlighted why he is the hot favourite for Thursday's JBWere Masters, firing five birdies on the front nine at Kingston Heath to win the Pro-Am on Wednesday.
...
He had four bogeys on the homeward nine, but seemed to be taking that section of the course less seriously, having already played those holes in a practice outing on Tuesday

from: http://tinyurl.com/yf8d7bt

The bolded bit isn't great news for Tiger backers hoping to trade early on...
