I'm pretty certain I've managed a decent profit via various sportsbooks on Golf over the last decade, but I never kept records. Will be using this thread to track my bets as the exchange is all I have left. Do occasionally place bets via friends on sportsbooks, but it's a hassle.
Day 4 Honda. Taking on Matt Jones who is leading by 3. Not many regular winners in the chasing pack, but there is JB Holmes. Don't like the fellas style of golf, but lets see if he can win me some money. Had £25 on him at 15
I do think IM and Pan might go close, and Villegas for top 5. No bets though, but I'll be following them closely.
Not picking an argument with you dibdob but my point about Spieth's recent 'form' isn't necessarily about winning. He was obviously getting up to speed with placed finishes in all the recent tournaments. That's 'recent form' in my book. Don't be so touchy. BTW......I've changed my mind and will follow your two selections because I've already backed them myself. LOL

Reed winning won't help my blood pressure. He has been making a habit of starting tournaments really strong, but then sometimes fading. Pretty sure Rose will fade too. Been burnt by out of form players (Holmes, Sned) getting hot and flattering to deceive. Same from Rose please
Morikawa looked to get upset by Jordons eagle and his failure to even make a birdie despite being in a better position. I think his chances are gone.
Bezuidenhout winning will actually hurt me more than Reed. I thought about backing him a few weeks ago. His profile coming here is very similar to Schwartzel and Willett when they won it, but I didn't think he was in the type of form they were when they won. Of the "big names" Spieth looked the best by miles.
Can't wait for day 2 start. GL with your bets

Looks like you were right about Reed fading. Rose still hanging round after his poor start yesterday. That was actually a really gutsy display from him.
@Raspberrybottom you must be seething at Cam Smith. From -5 to -2 in the blink of an eye. Hope you managed to get some traders done on him.
Dibdob and fullback any trading on your bets?

Didn't do any trading Tarooq. Agree Rose has been gutsy. Nerves however got the better of Harman. Hide was special and oozing confidence last night, but still worth taking on.
No one I'm particularly keen on behind (Spieth too far back for me liking) so using the pin, which has landed on Rose. His final round record around here when in contention is pretty solid, so at the very least he'll hopefully give me a good run for my money. Also Rose would be a worthy winner so happy to cheer him on. Rose £100 at 12.5

Had a lay bet on Hide at 1.1 liability of £25. Xander managed to get Hide on the ropes, threw his knockout punch, missed and hit himself in the face instead.
Total -£375
Going with Kevin Kisner at the Heritage. He's found a bit of form, has a good record here including a 2nd, and is a nice price. Players missing the cut at the Masters like Kisner have turned up here and done well in the past so that's not a negative. Round 3 leaders tend not to win here (2 in 10 years) It's been won twice by guys 6 back and 4 times by players 4 back. Great place to bet on Day 4. For now Kisner £25 at 60

Just got home and Kisner looks done already. Harman is -2 after 7 holes and his price is bigger than it was yesterday. Guessing it's because a few like Morikawa and Smith have got off to fliers this evening. I'll take it, £25 at 38 on Harman. I'll be seething if Morikawa wins here as that would make it the 3rd time he won the tournament following the one I backed him in.

Backing Sung-Jae Im tonight on the without Cink market as he is looking uncinkable. Waiting for a friend to put the bet on for me. Decent ew bet, plus a small win in the outright.

Leishman usually very steady all round. Smith can be up and down but very good when on his game.
Good luck all.
Zurich Classic - Smith and Leishmann for me @13.5Leishman usually very steady all round. Smith can be up and down but very good when on his game.Good luck all.
Leish and Smith going well for. Good luck. I was gonna sit this out, but noticed Rahm was going well with Palmer, so had £50 on at 13
Need to do totals. Already lost track!

Well done on the winner Raspberry. Glad Cam Smith finally got it done for you and we finally got an exciting Sunday.
Going with Justin Rose £15 at 44 and Bubba £10 at 70 for the Valspar.

Top 8 tonight are all "reluctant" winners and Sned and Bubba might be just a little too far back tonight. Going for the biggest price of the top 8 and thats Potter jr £25 at 85
He's more likely to shoot 75 than 65 tonight, but amongst this lot he shouldn't be such a big price.

A poster called dibdob started this thread to keep a record of his bets somewhere quiet, I think! Though he's gone a bit quiet the last few weeks.
I started posting my stuff here - can't really remember why. I used to post on golf forum way back.
This is just habit now I suppose. I normally have 6 or 7 picks (PGATour only) with a view to trade although sometimes I let some run.
Doing okay since the re-start. Take a look back through the thread if you like!
Cheers!

Have had 4 winners from 14 tournaments since April this year.
Prices: 13.5, 75, 40 & 55
There have been 88 selections and (if level stakes used) that would show a profit of +95.5
But I'll have more on golfers I really fancy and I am almost always looking to get stakes back by
greening up (at least to get "free bets") after round two most of the time. Occasionally taking profit, etc.
Still, am nicely up this season and enjoying watching it on TV. There's nothing quite like watching live on Sunday night if you have a couple of
players in the top half-dozen or so come the last round!

Away this weekend (no BF access) so no bet for me this week!
Thought I'd do a round-up....
12 Tournaments so far 73 Selections 3 Wins ( at 80, 60 + 26) 9 Top ten finishes Level stakes profit of 93 pts.
Thought that level stakes would be the best indicator although I do back and lay a bit! Biggest "hard luck" story (if that's the word) probably Berger four shots clear after Saturday in the Honda. Mind you Hovland and Horschel also messed up good positions in the Arnold Palmer. Good luck all this week.
